In the campaign I want the characters to either get transported or something to a area where they have to survive a "Alien" scenario. If anyone knows a adventure already created like this, please point me on the way, but if not, I would love help to making the Alien creature and just help buliding this adventure. Thank you so much! |

You would have to have a bunch on NPCs around that they are willing to protect from this super-killer. The Movie Aliens works better because their are more creatures and a lot of them die. BUT if none of the heroes get killed, then it wont seem much like NAY Alien movie. AvP:Requiem had the highest survival of any Alien movie at 4 or 5. I thin the basic scenario is fine but you's have to plan ways to make the part break up. AND what kind of body count are you willing to live with? Creature from the Shadowfell. Ravaging the country side. PCs and NPC Heroes chase it into a "lost mine" and entrance collapses. Mine shifts in all directions, Cavern, old tools, minor threat creatures, rats to scare them for no reason, the only way out is up a vertical shaft, with the S-fell racing after them... ![]() |

Then center most of your encounters around puzzles and skill challenges punctuated by the ocasional battle against the creature or creatures. Rather than one statblock for the badguy, you are probably going to want 2 or more that are tailored for each encounter. Examples would be a Solo version for the finale, a hazard where the Alien pops out and does damage somehow before retreating, a skill challenge where the players try to make it over a bridge that the creature or creatures is destroying. As to how to present this encounter, I'd be more inclined to have a few adventures leading up to it rather than just dropping the players there from square 1. Perhaps an enemy of theirs is searching for a powerful McGuffin left behind by an evil wizard and ends up leading the party to a certain location in which the Xenomorph is a creature left behind to guard the McGuffin. I think the abbandend city of Moil in the Shadowfel or an abandonded Astral dominion would be a good location for the Wizard's laboritory. Dropping the bad guy + minions/mercenaries and the party into this death scenario could be pretty interesting. And if you really want to change things up, you can kill the starting Alien midway through the scenario and have a new one or ones take over as the previously killed turn into new Aliens with different powers and abilities. |
