We never got into 3rd edition. We quit playing because we just couldn't keep it together, with our jobs and kids on the way, etc. Long story short, I play MMOs and have for years. Right now me and my guild (close, tight knit friends) are in between games and bored, so we started leafing through some D&D stuff on the net. They all really want to play. None of them have really any experience. One of them played Neverwinter Nights on the computer so there's a bit of knowledge. I have no experience with anything beyond 2nd Edition, and I understand things have changed a lot. So here are my questions: Should I just stick to what I know and teach them 2nd edition? Or go ahead and learn 4th Edition with them? How internet friendly is D&D now? Can anyone point me in the direction of some internet tools? We'd be playing online, not over a tabletop. Any other suggestions? |

IMO, even though I have not played it online myself, 4e seems very internet friendly, especially to those of us who know MMO's, have experience communicating during raids etc. |
