| #1rikijiMay 02, 2009 12:09:20 | This is an extension of the principles used in my Consolidated Multiclass Patch. It can be used in conjunction with those rules or by itself as a replacement for Paragon Multiclassing. Paragon Multiclass Paragon PathPrerequisites: Any class-specific multiclass feat, Novice Power, Acolyte Power, Adept Power Special: If you have this paragon path you are considered to be paragon multiclassing in any class for which you have a class-specific multiclass feat. Paragon Multiclass Path FeaturesAdvanced Training (11th level): If you have a class-specific multiclass feat for a class with scale or plate armor proficiency, you gain proficiency in chain. If you have a class-specific multiclass feat for a class with hide or chain armor proficiency, you gain proficiency in leather. If you have a class-specific multiclass feat for a class with heavy shield proficiency, you gain proficiency in light shields. If you already have a proficiency through your primary class, you gain no other benefit. If you have one or more of these proficiencies through a feat, you may swap those feats for any other heroic tier feats. These swaps do not count toward your retraining for the level. Mastery Power (11th level): You may choose to replace one of your at-will attack powers with an at-will attack power from any class you have a class-specific multiclass feat for. Reserve Action (11th level): When you spend an action point to take an extra action, you regain the use of an encounter attack power that you have used during this encounter. If you have an encounter attack power in reserve (such as through the multiclass reserve feature, or through the reserve maneuver feat) you may gain a use of that power instead. Multiclass Reserve (16th level): Choose an encounter attack power from your primary class or a class for which you have a class-specific multiclass feat. The power must be your level or lower and one that you don't already have. If you have the reserve maneuver feat (PH2 p. 191), the power must be from a different class than the power you select for that feat. When you regain the use of your powers at the end of any rest, you can gain the use of the chosen power instead of regaining the use of an encounter attack power of the same level or higher. Each time you gain a level, you can exchange the power you chose for this feature for another encounter attack power from the same class. This power must be your level or lower and one that you don't already have. If you have the reserve maneuver feat, the power must be from a different class than the power you select for that feat. In addition, if you have class specific multiclass feats for more than one class you can take the reserve maneuver feat more than once. Each time you take the feat the power you select must be from a different class. You may only take the reserve maneuver feat for powers in your primary class and classes for which you have a class-specific multiclass feat. Paragon Multiclass Path PowersIn place of the paragon path encounter power gained at 11th level, you can select any encounter power of 7th level or lower from any class for which you have a class-specific multiclass feat. In place of the paragon path utility power gained at 12th level, you can select any utility power of 10th level of lower from any class for which you have a class-specific multiclass feat. In place of the paragon path daily power gained at 20th level, you can select any daily power of 19th level or lower from any class for which you have a class-specific multiclass feat. |

It's not as critical fix as was needed when 4ED was first released (WotC has addressed the multiclassing issues through additional feats), but it's still an interesting alternative. |

One thing I would like to see is if you swap at-will powers, you still get to use you the at-will power you swapped out as an encounter power. If you choose not to swap at-wills, you can instead choose an at-will from your second class. You can use that at-will as an encounter power. I just like some of the multiclass feats that give you an at-will as an encounter power. I would like to see some similar ability for paragon multiclassing. |
