The plan is that the villain is obsessed with "games and toys." If any of you remember the cartoon Darkwing Duck I'm going for the Quackerjack type villain lol...This is meant to be a reprieve and nice sidetrack from the serious fighting and politics they've been dealing with as of late...The villain has an artifact that the PC's need but to get it they have to complete his "Hall of Fun" "Gauntlet of Games" Dungeon of Happiness" whatever I end up calling it...My problem is that I'm having issue thinking of games and challenges I can pit them against in such a dungeon...I've got an idea for a maze, a blind chess game where each PC alternates on making the move (they wont be allowed to discuss strategy), and also something with cards and maybe dominoes...but these are mostly out of character type skills...I need some help thinking of some other ideas and ones that would actually put the characters to the test not just the players...I'm also looking for penalties if they lose the games...I dont want to outright kill em for losing a game lol. I'm thinking maybe have em sign a binding magical contract that does something to them if they lose. Or maybe just straight up charge em gold. If you guys could give some input and suggestions I'd really appreciate it. Thanks! |

Dominoes -- if I'm picturing them clearly, dominoes are about an inch by two inches, maybe a little smaller but not too much -- the point being that you could lay out a map made of dominoes and manuever miniatures on them. Moving from one domino to another might damage equal to the difference between the numbers you're moving between (thus, moving from one side of a domino to the other would be safe, and moving between two dominos with the same number touching would be safe) A room with many doors, numbered, say, from 17 to 27. In this room, they play blackjack against a mysterious spirit. If they hit 21, the exit door opens and they can progress. If they stand on a lower number and win, that numbered door opens and they get something good. But if they bust, that numbered door opens and a monster pops out (or they're cursed, or poisoned, or something else bad). |
