So I figured I'd convert some of them over to 4E. At this point I'm about half way through Slave Pits of the Undercity, converting the monsters and traps. I'm not worried about the treasure since I'll just add in the treasure parcels. Its going well, its actually easier then I thought. My main question though if anyone has done this before is the pacing. In A1, the first level has somewhere around 16 encounters, granted some of them pretty minor. Should I keep them as is to preserve the original module's pacing or should I adapt, maybe moving some of the smaller encounters together to create something more suitable? |

I'm taking several of the "encounters" from the original module and combining them together to get the actual number of encoutners down to about 12-14. I'm blocking similar type encounters into 2-3 room encounters for ease. I'm also paring down the number of orcs/half-orcs since the original was written for 9 PCs. |
