Anyone else use a wiki for their campaigns?

We use one for our homebrew here: http://www.disciplesofkord.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

I was hoping to see what other campaigns look like; not only for story ideas but for writing style as well.

BTW, feel free to borrow any material if you wish.

Actually I've just started recently getting into organizing my Campaign through a wiki. I used to just write up lore and description to my home brew world, then I'd supply maps or whatever else that I thought would come with it.

I now use Obsidian Portal and while I'm quite busy with games at the moment, I'm updating the Shadowrun Campaign when I can and currently am in the planning stages of a D&D Campaign using 3.5 rules.

If you want, you can check it out at Obsidian portal: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/arakahn-land-of-heroes

Yup, i use Obsidian Portal as well. my campaign is here http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/on-gaka

Not much there at the moment. This is the first full-fledged campain world that i'm attempting, so i'm being very cautious as I develop it and time for RPG's is scarce with my first baby on the way, but I add to it probably once a week, or whenever idea strikes.

I tried using a wiki, got one person to be active on it. The others had various excuses for blowing it off. So I ultimately blow off the game.

Before I found out about Obsidian I had started with Free Webs. It allowed me to do more with it than just our D&D adventure, as we do other types of gaming also.

I have a wiki I update related to our adventure. I was hoping to get the players more involved in it, but I have available for them to use as a reference. Starting to think about dropping it though as they just don't seem interested with any of it.

One player, that has ended up running two characters, uses the blog as his journals for his characters.

I also try to Chronicle the Campaign, with each Chapter based on each adventure.

-I was thinking of doing something like Wikipedia for my campaign, to be able to link names in lore with stats and stuff...

-My one concern would be vandalism, I guess. Is there anything that anyone who uses it know, that prevents something like that?

You can set permissions so that only certain people can edit the wiki.

-That said...How do I go about making a wiki? I am stupid, apparently, when it comes to these matters. The OP's wiki, for example, I accidentally joined (no offense) thinking that I was creating a new account, which would allow me to make my own wiki...

No clue. That amount of programming knowledge is above my pay grade. One of the reasons I use Tiddly Wiki is that its like "Wiki Programming For Dummies".

I suggest Wikidot.Com, which has a rather simple process. You can create a new wiki simply by typing its name into the form on the front page - though you have to register at their site.

I use Wikidot.Com wikis for a large number of projects - most notably my own campaign setting - and I am very satisfied with them.

-A ha! I figured it out. "wikia.com". Very easy...I thought "wikia.com" and "wikipedia.com" were the same thing, lending to my confusion, and...

This is an incredibly cool idea. Thanks for the inspiration, I'm going to have to do it ;)

I just created one for the upcoming campaign I plan to run. I figure it'll be a good way to start getting campaign and setting info somewhere my players can reach it. Easier than keeping all my world setting stuff in a word document and emailing it all out to the players.

I'm using a TiddlyWiki for my own homebrew setting and campaign. Here is what I've created: http://lostcoast.tiddlyspot.com/ if your looking for an example. It's pretty simple out of the box. The Campaign session write ups are in the "Campaigns" area while the rest of the world details are in their respective sections.

The game is a sandbox campaign where the players get to discover the world as they play, so I'll keep fleshing out the wiki as I go.

Does anyone record their game sesions? Not only would it be a great way to review the game and take notes - but you could edit out good lines and in character dialog to post up on the campaign website! I don't know what program you would want to use that would make nice small editable files like that though..

My links are in my signature, for both my campaign world and a (partially completed) story of the last campaign I ran.

I do use a Wiki and I give players XP Points for posting and collaborating with it. I found it to be the only way players do something with it, or at least look at it.

The link is http://www.coliseoweb.com/dokuwiki/doku.php. It's mostly in Spanish... and permissions will not let you look much...
