It is baisically a reskin of the adventues from the DM's kit, but with Foreign Crusaders as the baddies and arab djinn and bandits as the good guys. I have an A plot, B plot, and a C plot, but I need ideas refining things.
Plot A: Oust the Crusaders from the Sultan's keep, force them to rout, broker peace.
Plot B: The Crusaders were allowed to pass though the fortified channel to attack the sultan by another leader who was fearful of a ritual being conducted. The sultan is actully a Rashasha. The heroes now must deal with him.
Plot C: The heroes must deal with the ruler who hired the cursader.
The A plot is fleshed out with enough for 5 sessions, however I am unclear what to do beyond that. What is the ritual being caried out by the sultan? How evil is he? How will he deal with the heroes? So I am looking for adventures to toss into the B and C plots. Thanks |

Is he a corrupt ruler hoping to create a new empire? What is he, the servent, or the master? I personaly think making him either could go well if thought out. Here are some ritual ideas... 1. Attempting to remember his many lifetimes for a powerful secret he has forgotten 2. The awakening of a horrible creature, or of a legion of mindless constructs 3. Unlocking a cosmic gateway, allowing a star of great abberant power to fall to the sands 4. The creation of a magical disease/plauge that will be used to wipe out rebels and crusaders 5. The enforcing of an ancient pact that will kill certain nobles and replace them with devils/rakshasas/phantoms 6. Open the first seal of an ancient treasury said to hold a weapon of legend Rakshasas on a whole are a corrupt and malign race. I say play it straight, and make him a throughly dark enemy without being overly sadistic or bloodlustful. His weakness should be ambition and greed, an unstoppable quest for power and wealth. As for how the sultan would deal with the party, I can see him doing what any other ruler would do: label them outlaws/traitors/heretics. Bounty hunters could chase after them, they ahve to live off the street and lay low, and worm thier way through nobles who may or may not be loyal to the sultan. Sounds like a blast. Thats just my thoughts though, good luck with the campaign. Hope this helps |
