Thinking of adjusting this feat...

Mainly allowing you to choose anything except: Holy Symbols and Totems

Holy Symbols/Totems are excluded because they apply to a specific power source (Divine/Primal relatively), so they won't work for a different power source.

But, since the Heavy Blades/Light Blades have already broken down the barriers allowing weapons to be used as Implements. Why not just allow any weapon? Then you can do Hammermage dwarves, or Arcane Archers (via Bard) with implement bows. By using a weapon as an implement you loose any real implement powers, all you get is Enhance, Crit, and Properties. So you can't apply any weapon powers to your spells (not to mention Heavy Blades probably contain the worst of what you'd get).

Also, allowing the class to take it's own implement would be allowed. Sword mage taking Arcane Implement Proficiency for Heavy Blades. This would then allow them to use their multi-class Arcane powers with their usual implement.

I completely agree with at least letting you take it for your primary class. As far as other weapons, haven't really looked at balance there, but it shouldn't be a HUGE problem...
