I am going to be running a campaign set in Titania which is my campaign settings version of the Feywild. On Titania the Archfey are at war with the mortals of the world. The main idea of the campaign is combating the plots and schemes of the Archfey, dealing with the conflicts of the different factions of mortals that make Titania their home and surviving in a world that is controled by the Archfey who fancy themselves gods.

I am trying to create the Archfey of the Court of Stars. So far I only have the ones that are mentioned in the Manual of Planes. So I wanted to get some help creating different Archfey based on the information given in the Manual of Planes.

The Summer Fey: Tiandra the Summer Queen
The Green Fey: Oran the Green Lord
The Winter Fey: Prince of Frost, Koliada the Winter Witch
The Court of Coral: The Sea Lords (Elias Alastai and Siobhan Alastai)
The Gloaming Fey: Maiden of the Moon, The Prince of Hearts, Witch of Fates

Those are the ones I have so far. Any ideas on other Archfey of the Court of Stars and backround concerning then would be appreciated.

Just going to pop my head in and make a few comments.

Summer Fey are probably going to be about light, warmth and prosperity. Whether that's good or bad depends on the Archfey - an Archfey of Light might damage the sight of all who look upon him.
Green Fey are going to be about growth, nature and primal desires - honest and bold, but rapacious and headstrong.
Winter Fey are probably going to be about darkness, cold and hunger. Whether that's good or bad depends on the Archfey - an Archfey of cold might be a comforting, cooling fey.
The Court of Coral probably has a lot of ocean fey - fey of beaches, fey of fish and of travel.
The Gloaming Court is all those fey that embody ideas or emotions - an Archfey of Hatred would not be out of place, or an Archfey of Despair.
The Animal Lords always get forgotten, don't they? They could be part of the Green Fey, or a Court in their own right. The Knight of Foxes, the General of Wolves, the Marquis of Panthers, the Duke of Boars... you can just grab an animal and slap on a noble title, and you've got the start of a new Archfey...

The Animal Lords are a good idea but, for now I think I will include them in the Green Fey unless they grow into their own faction.

Im going to start working on describing in depth the Archfey I already have so that they have their own areas of influence like gods.

Also each of the Archfey are going to have their own domains much like the Astral Dominions of the gods. So each of the fey demesnes of the Archfey must reflect their area of influence and personality.

Thinking about their personality also will help in coming up with their domains. I could possibly have two different Archfey that have some similar areas of influence but because of their personality they manifest opposite characteristics of the same aspect of nature.

I just saw that Dragon added a new feature called the Court of Stars much like the Codex of Betrayal and Demonomicon of Iggwilv.

Nice to see some love for the fey. Though I haven't checked out the manual of the planes, I am incorporating the faerie courts into my homebrew campaign. I'd love to see what you come up with!

Here are a couple Archfey IMC...

Acale the Hungerer: The false promise of eternal summer, gluttony and short-sightedness, gnawing hunger of winter driving men mad, failing to sow seeds or sowing seeds in the sand. The Hungerer Acale is lord/lady of The Feasting Fields, a sunlight realm of faerie fruits, glazed boar, and sumptuous custards offered by sly and ingratiating fey hosts...but none of the foods end the hunger...eventually mortals begin eating themselves or each other...those who escape often die of starvation upon returning to the world. Acale appears as a dazzling beautiful man/woman (the opposite of his observer) with gaudy clothes sewn out of acorns, seeds, meat jerky, dried fruits, and nuts; however this illuson is visible on the coldest nights when Acale's skin becomes transparent and one can see the bone beneath. Acale is always attended by "bloodberry sprites" which roll out a "carpet" of smeared berries and cow's blood before Acale. He/she most properly belongs to the Summer Court, though he/she has ties with both the Winter and Gloaming Courts as well, making him/her a bit of a chameleon.

Damoiras the Dawn Prince: Trill notes of a flute summoning buds to blossom before their time, a premature babe barely survives birth, early snowmelt catches a village unprepared washing away their crops, a musician drives his young apprentice mad demanding too much too soon. The Dawn Prince is lord of the Gates of Dawn, a verdant realm with the sickly sweet smell of fragrant blossoms where nature is thrown off kilter - everything happens too soon. Plants struggle to emerge through soil still thawing from frosts while others are burned by an unusually high sun. All the inhabitants expect each other (and visitors) to guess their desires and fulfill them, to jump into marriage before friendship, to challenge a lusty suitor to a duel without provocation (yet), to teach a 6 year old the lessons of adulthood. Everything here is too full of the rush to grow. Damoiras appears as a large shaggy satyr with gleaming green hair and orange eyes radiating primal vigor, though his form is somewhat lopsided with one arm hanging lower and one horn larger; he is attended by a group of fauns who change every dawn, beginning the day as baby goats and ending as goat headed people. Damoiras shares allegiances with the Green Court, though his nature binds him (often against his desires) to the Summer and Winter Courts.

There are a couple of other archfey mentioned in the Manual of Planes.

Baba Yaga, hag archfey
Hyrsam, satyr prince archfey
Monkey King
Cat Lord
Scamander, the great river

Also, the novel Plague of Spells by Bruce Cordell mentions an archfey who one of the characters has a fey pact with named Neifon, the Lord of Bats.

Some great ideas for archfey could probably be built upon the Seelie and Unseelie Courts that are detailed in the Meredith Gentry novel series by Laurell K Hamilton.

There was also a series of articles about the Seelie and Unseelie Court.

One more thing (sorry I keep bouncing around haha) is that Auril is mentioned as the Queen of Air and Darkness in the Hall of the Frostmaiden article in Dragon.

Hope some of this helps!

So in the articles archives, there is a series called Fey Feature, where the go over various aspects of the Seelie and Unseelie Court. This could be a great resource to flesh out the various interrelations of the Courts, and maybe help stimulate some ideas of your own as far as the archfey go!

It's in '03 or so that it starts. Maybe before then...

Here are a few Gloaming Fey from my world:

Ebaranim The Dream Lord
The Dream Lord is a particularly dangerous archfey who holds power over sleep, dreams and nightmares. Ebaranim is a mirage dragon archfey and a member of the Gloaming Court. Ebaranim rules the fey demesne of Kathia sometimes called the Dream Realm or just Dream. Kathia resides in the dreams of mortals and The Dream Lord can gain power over those who venture too close to his palace. Ebaranim can put those under his control into a trance that allows him to control their body while their mind is asleep. Using the secrets and desires of mortals Ebaranim can keep mortals under his control in Kathia indefinitely. The Dream Lords power is so great that even beings that do not sleep can still be dragged into the Dream Realm through a magical sleep. Those that oppose Ebaranim must always watch their backs even in their sleep should those dreams turn into nightmares.

Xtabay The Witch of Fates
Xtabay is a darker archfey or the Gloaming Court. The Witch of Fates is a hag and powerful oracle whose pronouncements spell doom. Xtabay divines the fate of mortals and of other archfey. She uses this knowledge to her benefit by making deals and steering the fate of those involved to suit her needs. Xtabay rules the fey demesne of Arori the Sphere of Fate. The Sphere of Fate is an orb that is sized for a medium creature and houses an entire realm. At the center of this realm lies the home of the Witch of Fates called The Cave of Xtabay. The Witch of Fates has seen the downfall of many powerful nations. Some say that Xtabay herself engineered the destruction of these nations while some say it was destiny. She sometimes appears to those who’s fate is nigh as an old lady clad in black robes to speak of the prophecy of doom. Mortals who serve Xtabay have either been tricked into her service by false prophecies, serve her to avoid their own destiny or follow her to fulfill a destiny.

The Master of Darkness
The archfey called The Master of Darkness is a drow vampire who holds power over the night and the shadows. The Master of Darkness is considered the most powerful of the Gloaming Fey. The Master of Darkness is the only one who commands enough power to unite the normally independent archfey of the Gloaming Court. The Master of Darkness normally uses coersion, threats double dealing to gain the support of the other Gloaming Fey. The Master of Darkness holds mortals in utter contempt and reanimates their dead bodies to serve him. A master of shadow and necrotic magic he is always experimenting on creating new types of undead and has scattered his minions across the worlds of the Terraverse. The Master of Darkness rules the fey demesne of Urutuari the Black Tower. Urutuari is said to float across the night sky camouflaged by the darkness. The Black tower is magically enhanced to be bigger on the inside than it appears. Filled with rooms of untold horrors The Master of Darkness makes his home at the top of the Black Tower where he performs his experiments. Those who step into the darkness are sometimes pulled into Urutuari where death is just the beginning.

Okay I'm just going to throw this out there, but you seem to have sorted out the courts already...

Why no spring or autumn courts? Green is Spring, Gloaming could be Autumn. Thats seems about right actually.

Okay, for a moment likes go with seasonal courts. One court rules each season (which are very very long).

Lets further split up the courts into teams... Spring and Autumn are the lawful Seelie, Summer and Winter chaotic Unseelie. Not only does the weather change in fantastical ways every switch over of power, but even fashions, social rules, the monsters that roam the land, the very landscape and perhaps there is a castle where the rulers are housed, which can change from a tower covered in flowers to a black stronghold and back over the seasons.

Okay, now I love weird fantasy politics, but you don't have to use this, lets split the courts up again.
The Court of Coral, The Court of Cloud, The Court of Conifer & The Court of Coal. Haha, okay so, these are the courts of the Animal Lords, members of the main courts can be members of these as long as they are animal themed. So you could have a member of the Summer Court and the Spring court who are both rivals, but they can meet in the Court of Conifer as allies, before going back to trying to harm each other. This creates tension as few trust the Animal Lords because they could be passing secrets between each other or generally lacking in loyalty.

(I can't come up with a name), the scalding heat, the burning sun and the king of mirage The scalding sun is one of the few truly evil members of the summer court. He represents the intense heat of summer and it's ability to wither, burn and drive people mad. His realm is a vast (seemingly endless) hamada desert were the intense heat causes countless mirages. Overhead is a large red sun which constantly bakes the land. (can't decide what he should look like).

I would appreciate it is someone could help expand this, maybe fill in what i couldn't. Also a hamada desert is a a type of desert which is has no sand but instead vast areas of flat rock. It's sort of like a giant parking lot.

Bacchus One of the gloaming fey Bacchus represents wine and intoxication, as well as madness. He always wanders and is constantly followed by a group of saytrs. Upon meeting someone he invites them to drink with him and make marry. While all of the fey are very nice at first, once suitably intoxicated they become mad with bloodlust, tearing apart their guests before heading of to kill anything they find. Bracchus has no fey realm but wherever he goes a large amount of grapevines grow.
