are these options fair?

I don't do things by the book...
so are these options GO or no

1. Fighter class "feat swap"- swap the class shield and armor proficiencies for alternative feats. such as two weapon fighting, two weapon defense, improve initiative, skill focus: accrobatics, skill focus: athletics...
gain acrobatics instead of streetwise skill.
to simulate an unarmored accrobatic spear master that uses both ends of the weapon. it leads to powers rooted arround the use of the pole arm, such as pole vaulting, trip two foes, spinning parry. such a character might be asigned the longjumper feat, and if human powerful charge...
a new build power? how's this, "Two ends" the spearmaster while weilding a spear can not be flanked as small movements at the center grip can result in wild swings at the business ends of the weapon. adjacent foes find themselves faced with deadly thrusts even if the spearmaster is not facing them.
(*by the way, what would be the damage for the off hand of a halberd?*)

2. rogue options; change the weapon talent for shurikens into the backstaber feat. Change the weapon proficiency for shurikens to rapier. Change the weapon talent for daggers to a bonus with the rapier...
volia, a duelist-fencer-swordsman-swashbuckler, possibly pirate type.
long live pirates, death to the ninjas! go ahead, play a human with the nimble blade and student of the sword feats for the potential of adding a +2 to hit and "challenging" a foe to a duel, via the marking feature of the SOTS feat.

cough, ahem, "I am indigo montoya, you have killed my father, prepare to die!"

Rogue option two; change the proficiency for shurikens and handcrossbow to combat mobility and short bow. change the rogue weapon talent for daggers and stars to benefit the use of the short bow and provide the backstaber feat...
volia' a scout class is born.

Rogue option three: dagger master. if throwing stars is way too "ninja" for you try this build out. No shuriken proficiency, no rogue weapon talent for shuriken, instead the character gains; quickdraw with daggers and uses the weapon talent to improve the damage dice of daggers from 1d4 into 1d6. the special build feature is called "walking arsenal". Walking arsenal- you may carry one dagger per unused magic item slot concealed on your person. The daggers worn in this way have no weight and do not impair movement.
alternately: accrobatic bluff feat- requires you to be trained in accrobatics. You may "Fient" as shown in the bluff skill but your using body language and accrobatic movement to confuse foes. a host of powers rooted arround feinting such to enable shifting, moving, dodging an attack, a bonus on reflex saves, etc...
:embarrass

also, I am hoping psionics is done with something more of a 2ed style.
I.e. you had to be carefull and tactical aboutthe use of your powers, using powers was a deeply personal art that entailed risks...

not as 3rd had them, wizards in drag, with bizare versions of spells because a certain writter was too lazy to do psionics right.

Pretty much all these options would make the classes more powerful (sometimes a lot more powerful) if that is a problem to you, don't use them.

hmm, well I still like them. as to the "power creep" issue I don't see it all that much since there are trade offs for the purchases that result in a unique character. the goal is not to follow the herd of lemmings down the narrow corridors of "only core material is allowed" and "designers are never wrong"...

nope, it is to blaze my own trail- wether it is to just leap off my own cliff remains to be seen.:D

The thing is, the options are often more powerful than the trade offs. For example, +1 to attack with a rapier is more powerful than +1 to attack with a dagger.

That being said, none of it is gamebreaking. So if minor imbalances doesn't matter much to you, run with it.

-Looking at both of them, I wouldn't have a problem if a player asked me. The first one, I like a lot more than the second. The second one...eh.
