| #1pyromancer999Oct 10, 2008 14:32:30 | That's right, just what it says. I understand that many people want this, or that converted from 3.5e into 4e, but don't know how to do it. Well, request it on this thread and I shall give you the new, shiny 4e version of whatever you wanted. |
| #2pyromancer999Oct 11, 2008 9:17:35 | no one? |
| #3NyronusOct 11, 2008 11:06:46 | There isn't any real 3.5 class that I want that isn't either: A) Accounted for, B) Homebrewed already or C) I would do completely different. ... Just for kicks and giggles... Spell Theif? |

| #5koesherbaconOct 11, 2008 11:42:04 | What about converting the Master Inquisitive into a standalone class or paragon path? |
| #6pyromancer999Oct 12, 2008 15:02:19 | oh, and btw, if it's a homebrew thing or whatever, you need to give me a link. Spell thief... hmmmm. Well, here's what I say you can do quickly: Start off as a rogue, and multi-class into wizard. Then subsitute a rogue class feature (not Sneak attack( for this: Spell Steal Spell Thief class feature Encounter Immediate interrupt, or standard action Trigger: When you are targeted by an arcane or divine power, or are attacking a creature with an arcane power, you may activate this class feature. Effect: You may take one unused spell or prayer (or the spell/prayer you're being targeted by), and use it. You do not have to use it immediately, but it disappears after three turns. You may not steal a spell that is a higher level than any power you know. How's that? |
| #7ff6shadowOct 12, 2008 15:06:52 | Some problems there though. Spellthieves weren't arcane specific, and targetting specific power sources is, as of now, a big NO in 4th edition. |
| #8pyromancer999Oct 13, 2008 8:20:55 | Actually, in 3.5e they were. and If I changed it to non-power source -specific, it would have to be something like a psi-rogue, maybe stealing abilities from opponents minds. |
| #9ff6shadowOct 13, 2008 9:46:51 | I'm pretty sure they didn't just nail arcane casters, but divine as well. |
| #10pyromancer999Oct 13, 2008 9:55:00 | Perhaps they did. Well, I'll change it to Divine andArcane powers. Happy? |
| #11RustmonsterOct 13, 2008 13:52:54 | That's right, just what it says. I understand that many people want this, or that converted from 3.5e into 4e, but don't know how to do it. Well, request it on this thread and I shall give you the new, shiny 4e version of whatever you wanted. I really think this is a bad idea. You're gonna get a bunch of people trying to "prove" how "restrictive" 4E is by saying "I want my Half-Dragon Half-Fiend Half-Troll Nymph who was a Fighter/Druid/Cleric/Hex Blade/Bard/Dashing Swordsman/PrC/PrC/PrC/PrC/Kitchen Sink Mage converted to 4E". |
| #12RustmonsterOct 13, 2008 13:54:13 | Perhaps they did. Well, I'll change it to Divine andArcane powers. Happy? Not really. As stated above by another poster, that sort of "Screw X only" ability has been removed from 4E. They decided it is bad design to randomly target and harass one specific type of character. |
| #13pyromancer999Oct 13, 2008 15:07:26 | Theeeen, It'll probably have to be called the Psi-thief. |
| #14zombiegleemaxOct 14, 2008 15:39:51 | Ok, I'll bite. Breastplate and Half-Plate armors. I kinda have an idea, but the fact that Wizards switched Scale and Chain around, I'm not sure on half-plate's stats and if Breastplate counts as Light or Heavy armor as medium doesn't exist anymore. So, show me yours. |
| #15pyromancer999Oct 14, 2008 15:57:39 | Well, breast plate is most likely light, and half-plate, you would just use 1/2 the stats of full plate. |
| #16matthewswiftOct 14, 2008 16:20:01 | I want races as classes. I want to be able to level in succubus or vampire or something like that, instead of the typical hero, I want a hero who turns an affliction into a weapon. Hey! Maybe that could be one of ff6's next classes... I'll have to propose it to him sometime, see what he thinks. That or the geomancer. Or the dancer. or the mime/clown... |
| #17pyromancer999Oct 14, 2008 16:41:26 | Well, i don't know how you'd be able to turn into a succubus, but I would suggest that the Transformation classes (that's what they're called) should become paragon paths. I'll see what I can do. |
| #18koesherbaconOct 14, 2008 21:21:04 | Did my post about a Master Inquisitive get overlooked? Or is it going to be too complicated? |
| #19pyromancer999Oct 15, 2008 12:48:16 | Well, I don't know what it is, much less have acess to the material, so you'll need to post a link to it if you want it converted. |
| #20ace_of_timeOct 16, 2008 17:00:18 | I want races as classes. I want to be able to level in succubus or vampire or something like that, instead of the typical hero, I want a hero who turns an affliction into a weapon. Anything that you tranform into is now a template see page 175 DMG4e. Succubus would turn into a race. Then you would use a monster role to level up or go with a class. Since you said you didn't want a class. Use the table on page184 DMG4e. I think they would be more of a lurker. |
| #21ace_of_timeOct 16, 2008 17:08:02 | Well, I don't know what it is, much less have acess to the material, so you'll need to post a link to it if you want it converted. master inquisitive ECS 82 The master inquisitive takes the art of investigation and deduction to the ultimate level, rising to the top of the field. There you go. Although I believe it might be in the new 4E Eberron setting when it comes out. |
| #22koesherbaconOct 16, 2008 17:57:38 | Well, I don't know what it is, much less have acess to the material, so you'll need to post a link to it if you want it converted. Oh okay. It's in the ECS, but that's okay! |
| #23matthewswiftOct 16, 2008 21:59:41 | I meant a concept that was kicked out in 3.5 times: A race as a class. Say you have a monster race pc who doesn't want to use weapons that he doesn't have. A vampire-ling that would rather learn how to manipulate his enemies and focus on strengthening his undead powers. Can't do that with a class. Can't do that with a template. Time for a mix. Instead of taking on a template instantaneously (or however it's done) turn it into a learning curve. A PC who grows into a powerful lycanthrope by focusing on the template's powers instead of just taking on a template. It was a 3.5 thing that I feel opened a lot of options for PCs. Trouble is, it worked like a prestige class... perhaps a vampiric/lycanthropic/racial paragon path for templates? |
| #24pyromancer999Oct 17, 2008 15:01:49 | A paragon path would be more like it |

Give those powers levels at which you would be able to do those thing as a race. Then make those powers racial feats. That way as you level you can pick those as a way of showing that your racial side is growing some, so to speak. Maybe even racial multiclassing type feats that give some monster benfits and let you choose from some racial paragons. That would be allot of work though. |
