Okay, so I had this Idea: 4e is incredibly cool for Homebrewing. Why not do an Avatar CS.

Here are my Ideas so far:

Firebender- Striker
Waterbender-Controller
Earthbender-Defender
Arirbender Striker

Non-Bender(Need a better Name, basically Sakka's role using technology as opposed to magic like the other classes)- Leader

Some Ideas;

Monsters:

Fire Nation Soldiers: A refluffed Hobgoblin Minion
Enemy Fire Benders: Hmmmm...Refluffed Hobgoblin Warcaster

Any Ideas for this?

Well remember, Sakka eventually takes up with his own master and learns the Ways of the Sword.

I'd wait and see if they ever come up with an "official" Monk class for 4e. That would be ideal for Avatar.

You could likely incorporate many of the ideas behind Magic:The Gathering's Kamigawa Block as well since that dealt with notions of the Japanese Spirit World.

By the way, did everyone know that "Kamigawa" is Japanese for "Spirit River?"

IMO I think it would be easier at this juncture to do an Avatar campaign in 3.5e, you could use the Wu-jen for benders and you'd have the monk as well, you could create a hybrid class if you so chose. There are also greater resources for some of the mechanics involved (tanks etc.) that the fire nation uses. Though from your sig, i doubt thats what you want to do
