Right, as I mentioned I'd like to see bows in the weapon profencies.
I have trouble invisioning the primitive hunter/gatherer backgrounds I imagine most barbarians would have, without the bow as a hunting tool.

Also I think the temporary hitpoints might be a little too good, atleast at heroic level. At paragon and epic it might be okay though.

Overall I think its a nice class and well done, I wonder how it will match up to the official barbarian once that gets released.

The bow was actually a relatively advanced weapon. As such I would assume most barbaric warriors who focused on the bow would have just been rangers. As it is, I see barbaric fighters using javelins and throwing axes as ranged weapons.

As for numbers on the temp hp, a first level character will most likely gain 2 temp hp the first time they become bloodied each encounter. Their healing surge value will most likely be around 7. There is a paladin at-will power that grants you about 2-3 temporary when you hit an enemy. I'm not sure if this will provide a real significant health boost, especially considering that your AC will be 2-4 points lower than a regular fighter's.

Personally i see the barbarian more as a striker than defender. The guy who runs in and deals boatloads of damage to the enemy while screaming and swinging an axe. (yours looks like a hgih hp striker to me)

If you do want a defender role, give him some way to mark or sticky the enemies, similar to the paladin, swordmage, and fighter.

Otherwise he is simply a guy with lots of hp, who is hard to kill, that deals less than striker damage, and the enemys run right around and beat on the wizards.

I'd say no to light shields.

I personally see the barbarian as a striker as well. WotC I also think sees things this way as the are making the barbarian either a primal striker or defender (we will know within a month).

That being said, I didn't want to make a whole new class, I just wanted to modify an existing one. Think of the Barbaric Fighter as a Tribal Protector, or a Woodland Guardian. Whatever name you choose to give it, just think of it as a fighter, but less civilized.

As for the need for marking and stickiness, it has all the fighter abilities and powers (except combat superiority) to cover the marking, but yes, it won't be as sticky as the normal fighter.

Funny that, ranger would be the first class that I'd recommend if any of my players wanted to be a "barbarian"
I just think stonage human before "Conan of Cimmeria"

If it's just 2 HP its quite fine, but it seems like it has potential for a bit more.
Anyway I think you did a good job.

I would say this looks like a nice fighter variant overall, but for a defender your AC is going to be rather low. You are also making players have to make the difficult choice between Con and Dex for their secondary stat.

I would suggest a name change too, Barbaric Fighter doesn't sound catching at all.
