Not only does it make them more formidable, but I also feel it makes my players look a bit more toward tactics. Brothers In Arms (trait) So long as the soldier is within 5 squares of at least one other creature with Brothers in Arms, it gains +1 to AC and attack rolls. And in some cases (usually on one - two creatures per encounter group), I give the following triggered action to pair with it. My Fallen Brothers (triggered action) Trigger: Another creature with Brothers In Arms within 5 squares drops to zero hit points Attack: Immediate reaction. Close burst one. +14 v. Fortitude. 2d8+6 and ongoing 5 damage. The soldier gets +1 to subsequent attack rolls until the end of the encounter. This is just something I added to the soldiers in my Homebrew World, and I feel it adds not only challenge to encounters, but flavor to the campaign as well. It adds a kind of role playing feature by giving a tangible bonus to these creatures for fighting with and for one another. Let me know what ya'll think. |
