Having slaughtered every living thing, the Players turned on each other... |
| #3smacintushDec 07, 2009 0:21:58 | I believe the devs hinted at (maybe) a whole new setting made with 4e and PoL in mind. That's what I'm hoping for. |
| #4howlofmemoriesDec 07, 2009 1:09:28 | Don't forget the runners-up in the campaign setting contest that Eberron won. Does anyone know what those ones were about, by the way? I've looked everywhere, but can't find anything more detailed than the fact they were runners-up. |
| #5lizardmageDec 07, 2009 8:28:16 | As much as I enjoy Dragonlance, I really hope it is not transferred to 4th ed, or if it is then they clearly keep it limited in scope. By that I mean, limiting PC races to what they have always been, only 10 types of dragons etc. unless they start exploring the entire world of krynn. Perhaps their is an area with Shifter's and Goliaths and Cobalt Dragons, but as of now....no. The irony of this desire to not have DL converted...I really want draconian PC's especially Noble Draconians. I would love a setting involving Bunnies, or the Arabian Adventures, that one could be pretty cool. |
| #6ShiftkittyDec 07, 2009 9:01:03 | I bet it's "Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang". Caracatus Potts would be an Artificer, Chitty would be an unusually-shaped Warforged... |
| #7ah_maclimeszeroDec 07, 2009 10:26:21 | DragonLance: As was mentioned above, I hope it does not get converted. I don't want it to suffer the same fate as the Realms, where the entire setting was altered with enormous retcons and whatnot to justify new races and things. Ravenloft: I seem to recall this was simply being done in one big Delve style adventure, not an outright campaign setting, but I can't recall where I got that information. I may be insane. Spelljammer/Planescape: I believe this is mostly covered in the Manual of the Planes. At most, we may see a supplement book. Planescape is not a campaign setting in and of itself, simply a way of connecting multiple campaign settings. Oriental/Arabian/African Adventures: I would love to see some books focused on integrating some neat classes/races/items from these real-world inspirted settings, but again, not as a full-on campaign setting. My vote is towards a new, original campaign setting. Cashing in on current nerd-trends, I suspect a steampunk/victorian style setting with guns, airships, and pirates. |
| #8yellowdingoDec 07, 2009 19:48:48 | Mystara - The Dark Ages Magic fails to function one week a year and Wizards need 18 Intelligence to learn magic. Artefacts of the Immortals - particularly those that allow the crafting of Magic items by immortal Wish - are now fought over by Empires. |

| #10ah_maclimeszeroDec 08, 2009 6:36:28 | Wouldn't that just be Eberron with guns? Would it? I've never really taken a good look at Eberron. Maybe I need to... |
| #11kroskaDec 08, 2009 12:55:59 | My vote is for # 13, something with bunnies. They could make the 4th edition version of GURPS, " Bunnies and Burrows". Or the old dragon version of D&D, "Houses and Humans" Either of these would make me smile. |
| #12ShiftkittyDec 08, 2009 14:12:46 | From a cartoon in the 1e books: "Papers and Paychecks", where we pretend to be workers and students in an industrialized and technological society. Although with "Bunnies & Burrows", would Bugs Bunny and Peter Rabbit be Greater Deities? And where would Peter Cottontail fit in? The "Black Bunny of Death" from "Watership Down" could easily take the Raven Queen's place, IMO. |

Well, you forgot Rabbit. I mean come on, we need intelligent anthropomorphic tigers and fat brown bears too... ;) |
