So it's going to be a "post-apocalyptic setting", because basically the PCs at the end of my evil campaign resurrect the god of chaos, kill all other gods, and unleash cataclysms, plagues, and hellfire upon the world, rendering it a dead wasteland. When the God of Chaos turns on them, they barely manage to defeat but not kill him. Now they live as the kings and queens of a destroyed world.

What the cataclysm didn't destroy, famines did, as forests, farms, and oceans died en-masse. People survived eating animals, any storehouses they had left, and eventually other people. There was a century of slaughter as people competed for nonextent resources, tinged by endlessly recurring magical plagues, which lurked in the barren wastes.

All while this happened, the new gods of the world, the former PCs, ruthlessly exterminated any remaining opposition, including former cohorts and friends insane power grabs which only furthered the death and suffering of the survivors. In order to consolidate their power, they also sundered nearly all magical equipment.

Now they rule as gods of an empty world.

After a hundred years the world is starting to recover in some of the less damaged areas. Food and fresh water is more valuable than gold.

Huge areas are still dead zones as the result of the magical equivalent of thermonuclear warheads detonating, leaving a wasteland infused with necrotic magic.

No set mission - they could join the evil overlords if they wanted. I'll just throw out hooks and see what they choose.

Starting conditions:
- Magical items are scarce. They start with only one and won't get many for a while.
- Starting level 11. Nothing lower can survive in this world, so being that high level reflects being able to survive. I also am tired of heroic tier.
- Clerics and Paladins have few choices - either worship of "humanity", "nature", one of the evil PCs, or "CHAOS, the god of chaos". The first two don't have any channel divinity feats, the second two might. Most gods have been exterminated and not even able to reside as spirits or minor gods because all of their worshipers are dead in addition to their spirits crushed.
- A lot of homebrew monsters - like beefy goblins etc.
- Considering at one point half of hell planeshifted to the world, there's a lot of fullblood devils considered as "commonplace" - they aren't necessarily evil. If the PCs want I can probably dig up something homebrew for a playable devil race.
