If you have palyed EQ2 then you are familiar with the heroic opportunity skill.  Basically, one group member can activate it following a specific event, and then the entire group can in turn activate theirs, ultimately yielding a powerful attack against an enemy.

I thought that this would be a cool addition to DnD, as a homebrew kind of thing, and wanted to write out what I was thinking thus far and see if I could get a bit of feedback.

The initial feat for this would be Skill Training: Group Cohesion.  I wanted this to originate in a feat so that people may take it or leave it as they wish, as well as to allow for the option of Skill Focus: Cohesion down the road.  The modifier for this skill would be Charisma, as it involves working well with other people.

Following unspecified triggers in various situations, group members may attempt to roll skill checks for epic reults.

Mainly I am interested in using this as a means to employ non-combat skills in combat.

Ex) In combat a ranger scores a critical strike and opts to employ his group cohesion skill.  The group then proposes their action - each person proposes an action that when combined, would create a proposed effect.  This would be have to be agreed upon by both the group and the DM.  If an agreed upon action can be reached, then initiative is suspended as each person executes their action in the agreed upon order.  After the action is complete, initiative resumes on the next monsters turn, and for the remained of that combat the initiative is basically team one followed by team two.

Some obvious problems I see include wicked arguments about what is possible when different skills are combined, as well as groups attempting to abuse this power.  I hope to curb the latter with clear cut triggers both in and out of combat for the skills use, and that the former can be dealt with reasonably by individual groups.

You probably want to repost this in the homebrew section (if you haven't already).

Oh, sorry!  I'm still learning my way around the forums.  Thank you for letting me know.
