Hi guys

I wonder why you can get the +1 Bonus from Charge only for a Basic Melee Attack. This is just not plausible, and I think it should be granted to any Melee Weapon Attack.

Another Point i dont understand is about Flanking: Why only the 2 ppl who flank a Unit get C.A. ? And especially why its possible to Flank a unit using a ranged weapon...

What do you think about changing it, and what I should suggest to my DM about changing it ?

First, charging - In the instances where a non-basic attack is allowed at the end of a charge, such as certain powers and feats allow, the bonus to the attack is added to that power.

Changing it so that you aren't normally required to make a basic attack after a charge would invalidate those feats and powers.

Second, Flanking - yes, it can create odd situations with the current flanking rules... but any change to them could start a long line of questions that suddenly happen, such as "well if he is flanked and I'm in melee with him but still get the bonus, why wouldn't I get the bonus if one of the flankers moved? there are still two of us in melee causing him to have to spread his defense around... so it's just like the explanation for flanking, right?" which quickly devolves into either a rules argument, complete removal of flanking, or an abundance of combat advantage being granted just for being in melee with a friend.
