| #1ekluagJun 20, 2009 9:58:46 | I have Ideas to create at least one, if not two or three new classes. I have the time, and I want to do that kind of thing. I am just daunted my the amount of work that I will have to do, and I wondered if there was any tips or suggestions from the pros at this as to how I should manage this. Thanks in advance. |

For example, if you're making a striker, look at rogues, rangers, barbarians, sorcerers, avengers, warlocks, and anyone I might have missed to get an idea of what your class should be able to do. 2. Avoid making options that are strictly better than the best options of another class at the same level. For example, the Barbarian has a level 1 encounter power that deals 3[W], but also reduces his defences for a turn. Don't give your class a level 1 encounter power that simply does 3[W]. 3. Try to give your class a unique mechanic. If you're just tweaking powers from other classes and slapping them together into a new class, it begs the question of why you didn't just make a multiclass whatever, saving you the time of creating a totally new class. |

On average each of these sets have four powers. That means a total of 80 powers. Which sounds like a lot, but at the same time, assuming you start with the Level 1 At-wills, encounters, and Dailies, then do the level 2 utilities, and the level 3 encounters.. You're already 25% done, as that's 5/20 of the required sets of powers. Might help put the work in perspective so you feel less over whelmed. |
