I'm making a combination of spells and situations into a untyped undead character for a 4e world and need a few pointers. I realize you can tweak the damage type easily to necrotic or such, but I'm really at a loss as to what caster-class I base everything on. Do I treat them as summons or conjurations, etc? Dozens of questions. In this they will witness the rebirth of this character as a lich. The will reincounter him later initially he will only be a controller (exposition, dialog, and summoning the creatures he creates) but will eventually be a boss to fight and vanquishable. Can control/manipulate bones. Reconfigure bones into their original shape AND recombine them into hideous new creations. Bone skeletons, bone golems, combinations of creatures whose bones he has, etc. everything from standard skeleton minions up to and uncluding at least one skeleton dragon. I'm looking to generate some powers that articulate these as well as give him a decent fighting prowess for the final battle. Such as a rechargable spell that summons 2-3 minion skeletons, or an encounter power similar to Bone Wall (circa MtG). Any suggestions and all would be appreciated. Only 2 Posters commented on the other but I will cite them for respect: 'CzarGarrett' & 'mhbjarkistef' -I'd be tempted to lift powers and stuff from some of the classes and tweak them. -Like Thicket of Blades (Fighter 9) or Vorpal Tornado (Fighter 17). -I also kind of see a T-1000 type of thing going for the Osteomancer. Like being able to morph his lower arm into a blade or hammer. -And perhaps some limited capacity to avoid giving Combat Advantage by being able to reverse the orientation of his body. |

He can be a few decent level jumps from my table's characters to begin with but he will eventually be a near solo-difficulty monster for a finale. IDK where to start pulling this guy from he has certain parts that overlap many character classes (to only be used as a basis) but none of them close enough to just say "Oh he's an Undead ____" Questions 1) So what are some good hybrid ideas you guys have about this? My usual 'reskinning' for homebrewing won't work. Desired: NPC Monster (Undead) with the aforementioned powers 2) Would I treat his minions as conjurations, summonings, etc? As far as combat is concerned this is kind of important. 3) Any flavor text/ideas/suggestions would be a bonus as the only thing in stone for him atm is his origins (written a decent imho flavor text on his being 'reborn') |

IF he's a bone controller then maybe he simply generates them and whenever they get smashed he just reforges their bones again. Sounds like a soldier or controller, either an elite leader or a solo, what level? As for his minions standard rule is that summoned enemies get full action count, minor, move, standard, without impeding the big bad summoner. |
