We are both big fans of computer-roleplaying games, and I was thinking of doing a one-on-one campaign where the PC picks up companions along the way that he can swap out between the adventures. I want to know if anybody has done anything like this and how it has worked out. And also I can't think of a good reason/way for the companions that are not curently adventuring to be doing or where they are. Any ideas? |

The DM constantly had character "struck my divine lightning, petrifying them" to indicate players who weren't around. I always thought that a bit corny. -Perhaps you can do something like "Pokemon", with some "higher entity" picking-and-choosing (based on who is playing at the moment) what characters to aid him/her/it. |
