| #1DaybreakerMay 28, 2011 20:58:12 | So I'm looking at the ads for this "Conquest of Nerath" board game, and I notice that there seems to be a map of the core D&D world, or at least a large part of it. There's the Nentir Vale up in the northwest, and some other recognizable places scattered about. Is this official? |
| #2Neutronium_DragonMay 29, 2011 14:14:21 | It probably reflects the overall layout of the world on an unofficial level, but it isn't official, and some parts are clearly abstracted and/or altered for the sake of making a board game work. You can still use it as a general representation though. Unless and until there's a full campaign-setting publication, this is probably the best we'll get. |

The vaugeness actualy makes me want to avoid using the world just becuase I like to have a solid structure when going into a game. I don't know I guess I like established settings that can be tweaked a bit rather than settings that are vauge and can be totaly reinvented from game to game. |
| #5Book5Jun 06, 2011 23:34:37 | Off the wall, is there a Second Life® recreation of any Campaign Setting? I fondly look foreward to using a Oblivion~esqu version of mine. Speaking of which..... Drat! Gotta run to the store. Frankly? I know very little about the 4E Core World. I have always always always used a homebrew setting. My most developed is here on WotC. A Wonderful World (by the one true shea). My brief forays into Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms have been as players. Of course  I placed *Sty Rn* just south of Dark Sun, and on the other side of Never Never Land :waxing: Ravenloft has it's mists of fear.....and Mine has the mists of wonder! ![]() |

This. I wanted to say that. Though I have not been DMing for some time, I share the pain of the vagueness, even if it also has some nostalgia to it from the time I started playing D&D and I did not really care about which kingdoms were to the north and which were to the south. By the way, does anyone have the scanned map? I tried googling it but none of the images I got were quite good enough. |
