| #2sully33May 18, 2010 21:58:15 | I started to, but it was more off-the-cuff, as we played type of thing than a proper through and through conversion. A full conversion would be quite a feat, as there is a LOT of material (which is why i was doing it as we went along). We didn't get very far, so I don't really have a lot of notes to share. Special care should probably be taken with the new races, the Svirfneblin Gnomes and Rockseer Elves, although they shouldn't be too difficult. The real trouble with the conversion lies in pacing. If you substitute 4e kuo-toa for 2e, your heroes will need to be in the mid-paragon tier to take on the kuo-toa city, and then upper paragon to have a chance in hell against the aboleth city. Granted, there is a lot to do in the Underdark to keep the players occupied, but if they try to go take on Great Shaboath right after the kuo-toa city, they'll get tore of up pretty good. Good luck. I'm looking at my box set right now wondering if I'm up to the task. |

Beyond that point there would be a time limit to complete lest the Aboleth complete their nefarious plot. I don't remember when it hit, though, and I don't have the module near at hand. But if it happened to be the Kuo Toan city, that could make things doubly complicated. |

That begins a 30-day countdown, and at the end of 30 days the aboleth are able to activate their domination towers. There are definitely a lot of leveling up opportunities down on the Sunless Sea, as well as alliances to be made before the attack on the aboleth city. |
