Converting from 3E! Is it feasible? (especially WoT module)

Hi all,

I have a question that may be more complicated than I think it is. I am new to tabletop D&D (I started my first-ever campaign, in 4E, in September). I am thinking about making my next character basically be Mat from Wheel of Time; and my fiancee is giving serious consideration to playing D&D as well, as an Aes Sedai. Now...we could do that just using 4E (I'd be a staff/spear wielding Warlord with lots of reroll items; she could be an offensive-prayer oriented cleric); but I happened to see that in 3E, there was a Wheel of Time book (http://www.amazon.com/Wheel-Time-Roleplaying-Game-Fantasy/dp/0786919965/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1232209727&sr=8-1).
I of course never played 3E so I know NOTHING about it. The question is whether it would be even vaguely reasonable (and if so, how hard it would be / what I would need to do) to convert the Wheel of Time stuff from 3E to 4E.

Thanks in advance!

More hard then not. I own that wheal of time book. 4e works better as a gaming system (in my opinion). The wheel of time book has some nice ideas. You could convert stuff, but the stuff you convert would largely be re-written rules. There is nothing in that book that you could straight out port into 4e. If you are used to PnP RPGs and feel comfortable writing well balanced house rules, converting the Wheel of Time RPG into a 4e system should not be too difficult. If not, it will be impossible. Essentially what you would be forced to do is write your own 4e Wheel of Time classes from scratch, perhaps basing them off existing 4e classes. To make the Aes Sedai classes work in a 4e manner you would have to have multiple Aes Sedai classes, each that focuses on a different aspect of channeling.
