Shadow magic animates dead bones or sketchy rituals create an immortal, undead being (phylacteries aside). So, would it be a viable story plot to have a necromancer (or ex-necromancer) try and acheive immortality by creating true life. Like, by channeling primal spirits of fey magic to simulate the elemental spark, or whatever (I'm working off the two paragraphs on the DM's guide, give me some slack >.>) and create a sort of fountain of youth type magical energy that he could harness to constantly regenerate his cells and revive dead creatures into actually living creatures. I just feel like it would be fitting for someone to be obsessed with undeath to be obsessed with life in general. And more importantly, he could have cool nature controlling plant manipulation powers. (I suppose this is kind of similar to some of the primal classes, but I don't really like the primal flavor) What do you think? |

Sounds pretty neat, but focus on the fact that this biomancer is unique among his kind, and that most other necromancers are power-hungry wizards wanting shortcuts to learning about manipulating life. Interesting fact: The players from a game I'm DM'ing recently called a cultist a cultivist by accident, and laughed a lot about how he was supposed to grow magical plants etc. Pretty funny in relation to this, seeing that he was actually a necromancer in disguise. |

He uses fey magic to give them life , but because of his necratic taint , they simply turned into flesh bound spirits . they were spirits , but they had physical form and all the traits of undead , but each had incredible intelligence , endurance and will . When injured , they take parts of other dead beings and merge it with themselves always regenerating , 3 were made altogether and each went their own way after the events of "The NecroTombs" . In my head concept of them , they look something like this ![]() |
