I think it would be interesting if they were.

Some of them could fairly easily be turned into Themes, but others (wheels?) might be a bit difficult for anyone not playing a warforged!

Racial Themes?  OK!

I think that's a neat idea. They do look a lot like themes, don't they? Playing a Rat Swarm Warforged would be neat. You'd be a combiner.

Hmmm...

  • Shifter or Warforged + Wheels = Transformer.

  • Goliath or Half-orc + Plant = Swamp Thing

  • Changeling + Alien = The Thing (Carpenter, not Marvel)

  • Goliath + Alien = Martian Manhunter

  • Drow + Arachnoid = Drider

  • Dragonborn + Machine = Mechagodzilla

  • Shifter + Felinoid = Panthro

  • Goliath or Half-orc + Cryokinetic = Abominable Snowman

  • Anything + Hawkoid = Aarakokra

  • Human + Magnetic = Magneto (of course)

  • Goliath + Radioactive = Dr. Manhattan

  • Half-orc + Simian = Any Planet of the Apes character

If the GW origins were redone as themes, I could easily recreate most of my favorite oldschool GW characters in 4E... Most, lol.
(Although the anthropomorphic cheetah with superspeed and three attacks per round is clearly a shifter monk and the bright blue sentient tree who rode around on a tricked-out go-cart and shot laser beams out of his eyestalks is actually pretty easy (wilden warlock, maybe?), the altered human with eight arms and two brains (with a total of five attacks per round) and radiation eyes in the back of his head is a lot harder to do.)
