| #1untamed_soulJul 09, 2009 22:25:55 | I plan to have my group come across the hand of Vecna in the nearby future of our game, and I wanted to shock them a little with a physical prop of the hand which I'll just casually toss in their laps upon finding it (or maybe putting it in a box to open and find). I've worked out the storyline and the reasons why, I just now need to actually do the work and create a rotting life sized left hand. Browsing the internet and various Halloween shops, I got the idea to buy a Halloween prop of a severed hand, and dressing it up with some gauze (which I'll burn, tatter and stain to give it a little bit of a mummy effect. Does anyone else have any other ideas how to make it look more vile? I'm decent with plaster, so I've even toyed around with the idea of putting some plaster onto the hand and make it look like some of the knuckle or finger bones are protruding through the rotting flesh. Look forward to hearing some fresh ideas, and if anyone has seen a realistic halloween prop that fits the bill, let me know as it would save some of the work to dress it up. Thanks. |

I bet they would even shrivel up if you kept them out of the water long enough. Plus they are soft enough to be easily modified. |

Make sure to paint it old, not rotten, with greys and yellows. Real mummified limbs are actually all black, but that isn't climatic enough. Remember about bandages; those could even spare you from characterizations on some parts or can cover any mistakes. Good luck! BTW. At first I was thinking it would be the Eye. Brrr. |

Mix with something that smells bad already like dog hair or cat hair (Pulled from whatever source you want. Floor or said cat/dog) It'll make a really appealing smell when they open the box and catch a whiff of that! :D |
