I am writing the creation myth for my setting and am not sure what I need incorperated. Obviously the origins of the gods, races and world it self will need to turn up, a explanation for night and day and a first sin story might be included but what else is common from real world myths?
Also I have Feindish Codex 1 and Elder evils (3.5 edition campaign with modified 3.5 cosmology) but other that the details in them I am sketcy on the default story for creation. Any ideas or details? Below is my summary of the Default DnD creation Myth as I know it.

Age Before ages

230000000 years ago

Prime Mover creates deities. Draeden live about now. These Dieties with the exeption of Io are almost all dead by now and replaced by other dieties. This is why The Aboleths hold other gods with contept.

22100000 years ago

Outer planes form.

200000000 years ago

The Wind Dukes rise in power and war with the early Demons. Earliest reports of mind flayers and aboloths. (need creation myth for Aboloths)

190000000 years ago

Creation of the Grand Abyss and Modern demons.

189700000 years ago
Miska Wolf Spider appointed Prince of Demons. Leviathans fall into deep sleep.

189600000 years ago
Wind Dukes kill Miska. Aladrin attack Abyss. Demonic revolt.

17000000
War between law and chaos ends as demons counter attack from the deep abyss where they have been hiding. Blood War an Age of gods begins.

Well...I like the Small planet beginning (basically the world of the dinosaur - I call it The Age of Carnage) ends with a cataclysm when the diameter of the planet increases and the shell of the surface breaks apart into continents and oceans form as seafloor is created by expansion and separation and drift. A few species adapt and change becomming part of the new age. Others are wiped out.

-240,000,000 YRS: Age of Carnage Ends in Cataclysm

-3,000,000 YRS: First Intelligent Humanoids.

-1,000,000 YRS: First tool using Humans

-750,000 YRS: First Civilization Cycle. Emperor Huracan* becomes Immortal (Huracan the Despoiler - Lord of the Circular Tempest). Ends in Cataclysm.

0 YRS: New Civilization Cycle (Specifics unknown much has been lost since first civilization cycle).

* Anyone becomming Emperor of the World Gets to be Immortal (a god). It gives PCs a Goal.

I was planning the origins of the Underdark equivelant in my setting when I thought how the Leviathan from Elder Evils could be used to explain the anomalys in the geology of the setting. First the rocks formed naturally, than the Leviathan awoke or was born and shattered the continents, raised the sea and covered the world in water than then leaves sedimentry rocks that can be worn away to make vast cavern networks. When the Leviathan went back to sleep it created volcanoes much like Typhon of Greek myth that covers the surface with harder rocks.
