| #1tosskiiFeb 22, 2010 19:43:25 | I realise this isn't exactly a 4E question but I wanted to ask an active community the question... Has anyone found a good attempt to convert D&D 3.5 into the Starwars Saga ruleset. I'm not debating what is or isn't a good system I'm just trying to find a good link. Thanks guys! |

Basically the classes have talent trees and bonus feat lists just like saga edition. Skills are trained or untrained and based on 1/2 character level. Defenses are 10 + 1/2 your character level + class bonus (a change from saga which was not half your level but your whole level, which was unbalanced really) My players will probably enjoy making the defenses go back to saves so they feel like they are in control. I've used the condition track from saga edition as is, and said that any negative level effect is now a -1 on the track. I'm still working on the talent trees for the classes, but after that its pretty much easy to figure out. The hardest part is coming up with enough talents for each class to make them interesting and not broken. I will keep the spells from 3.5. The whole reason I'm doing it is so that I can use 4.0 material as a DM while the players keep the feeling of 3.5 which they love. As long as the 1/2 level calculations are used 4.0 monsters will fit into the system perfectly with only a little work before each game session. |

Don't get me wrong, SWSE is a great system, play it if you can--but the added complexity simply isn't worth coming up with a couple basic house rules to get 3.5 where you want it to go without a total conversion. Confuses players, makes 3.5 rulebooks useless, etc. etc. |
