im making it just for dnd not just any fantasy setting. im also adding the things such as paths/features that exstend classes and having spellcasting be more about the character and less about there class. My races are set and just about classes to. any other ideas?

Well... if you ahve te Saga edition rules I think you're done.  You'd need to reflavor the force powers and rename the classes but most all of the hard work is done for you, IMO.

Weapon proficiency is one major sticking point.  I would either:
1.) make simple proficiency the ability to use any D&D weapon not exotic, and the advanced weapon proficiency add additional damage when using a simple weapon (probably 3 points).  Since most advanced weapons are technological equivalents of simple weaons, all it represents is increased damage as a mechanical expression.  Perhapse choosing a "brutal2" or "high crit" or some other aspect would be less boring from a mechanical standpoint.
2.) All weapons are either simple or exotic.

The classes would be fighter (soldier)
Noble
Ranger (scout).
Rogue (scoundrel).

Do you find some things aren't translating well?  What do you see is a problem with your transition?

This should probably go to the Homebrew and House Rules forum.

im designing it for the "classic" dnd setting but so can still work just as well in other setting, even mordern and space opera.
the classes i desided on are
preist(cleric/druid)
warrior(fighter/paliden)
mage(wizard/sorc)
rogue(theif/assassin)
bard(traveler/scribe)
adding and moving talents as needed
it would be to hard to reflavor the few force power to fit a large variety of spells in dnd there a simple fix to this?

I tried to do this once (before Essentials came out). I used Swordmage for Jedi Knight (the Swordmage Bond seemed like a good power when reflavored to represent the calling of a lightsaber to your side).

It fell apart however when I realized how difficult it is to make the other classes fit for other roles. Example: Wizard/Sorcerer seemed good at first for an Inquisitor type, but then not. After going through a hundred Hybrid ideas, I gave it up and found Star Wars Saga Edition on its own to be a fine way to play it.

Nope not really, at least to my experience!
