Nov 11, 2009 13:47:02 Working on a series of feats representing Dragonborn with closer ties to specific Chromatic dragons (and, maybe later, metallics).

Black Dragon Lineage
Prerequisites: Dragonborn, Dragon Breath (Acid)
Benefit: Whenever you hit a creature with your Dragon Breath power on your turn, that creature takes a -2 penalty to AC until the end of your turn.

Blue Dragon Lineage
Prerequisites: Dragonborn, Dragon Breath (Lightning)
Benefit: Whenever you use your Dragon Breath power, choose a creature within 3 squares of the power's area. That creature takes Lightning damage equal to your Constitution modifier.

Green Dragon Lineage
Prerequisites: Dragonborn, Dragon Breath (Poison)
Benefit: Whenever you hit a creature with your Dragon Breath power, that creature is slowed until the end of your next turn.

Red Dragon Lineage
Prerequisites: Dragonborn, Dragon Breath (Fire)
Benefit: Use d8s for the damage roll of your Dragon Breath power instead of d6s. If you have the Empowered Dragon Breath feat, roll d12s instead of d6s.

White Dragon Lineage
Prerequisites: Dragonborn, Dragon Breath (Cold)
Benefit: Whenever you hit a creature with your Dragon Breath power, that creature is slowed until the end of your next turn.

They sound fair and flavorful to me, though I'm not sure if I like simply changing the damage dice for fire breath.
What if it gave the Brutal property, added an extra 1 dice of damage, or added a flat number to the damage dice?

Additional feat:

Draconic Resistance
You gain resistance to your initial Breath Weapon damage type equal to 1/2 your level.

Will you be doing some feats for the metallic draconic lineages as well?

Although I want to point out a few issues.

There's a feat that allows you to deal multiple damage types with your dragon's breath. Would that feat allow access to TWO of the above feats? I honestly don't see a problem with that, just wanted to make sure you don't.

Also... some of the metallics (and non-Tiamat-based chromatics) are going to duplicate those damage types. If I choose Cold as my damage type, could I take White Dragon Lineage and (eventually) Cobalt Dragon Lineage? Again, that may or not be a problem for you, just wanted to point out some potential holes there.
