The dwarves and eladrin can take feats that grant them proficiency and bonuses when using weapons "designed by" those races. We have a player who took the dwarven one to gain access to the dwarven hammers in AV.

What would be the implications of creating one for the dragonborn? The tratnyr (also in AV) description says it was designed by the dragonborn, so it seems like granting a dragonborn PC who takes this new feat proficiency with the tratnyr and the same +2 bonus to damage that dwarves get would make sense.

Am I missing something that might make this house-feat unbalanced? Are there any other "dragonborn-esque" weapons that would make sense to include in this feat?

Thanks for any input.

It seems to me that these feats (as well as the tiefling-only fire/fear damage boost feat) are intended to balance the non-strength Medium races in melee. Since Dragonborn already have a strengthboost, they get a free +1 to damage AND +1 to hit, compared to +2 damage. (the proficencys are included that it's a feat)
