| #1DreamingGod005Oct 10, 2010 13:24:59 | AS the title says, I want to add Dragonmarks (or something similiar) to the PoL setting in the base books. I don't want to just run Nentir Valley in Eberron (while I love the setting) I don't want to use all of it, to much baggage for things I want to do. One of the things I want is to not use (all) of the Eberron Dragonmarks, and make custom ones tailor-fit to the setting. While looking at the Eberron Palyer's Guide, it looks as if the Dragonmark feat is; 1 or 2 passive bonuses, and some free rituals. Not to hard, but my homebrew balancing is a bit... iffy. And I can't think of cool Concepts for new Dragonmarks (maybe name it something different? Godmark?) So, anyone have some cool ideas, and some balance suggestions? Thanks. ![]() |

So what if the dragonmarks are placed on individuals, places, objects, even families that are somehow tied to places where the tapestry of fate has been altered? |

I'm liking alot.... Now this hypothetical Fatemark, what pwoers would it give? The same as a dragonmarks? Or other powers.... |

That might represent escape from a swift foe, or conversely granting you the power to outrun all but the foe that is fated to catch you. On the other hand something like winning your soul back from hell might require a new mark. |

Rather, they give you the ability to master a specific subset of rituals as if you had the Ritual Caster feat. You still have to acquire the ritual and meet all the normal prerequisites (such as level prerequisites). The sole exception being the Mark of Making, which grants mastery of Enchant Magic Item. Granting free rituals would make marks more powerful than currently written. Conversely, having your homebrew marks grant access to a large number of rituals, and/or expanding the ritual options of existing marks, should not adversely affect game balance at all. |
