| #1cwildeJul 13, 2009 15:48:38 | Iv recently been thinking it would be really fun to have a character who duel wielded shields as there primary weapons, obviously id want to use the fighter as a base class, but beyond that I'm not really sure. If you have made a character like this id be interested in hearing how it worked out, if you have ideas for feats or equipment i be glad to hear them to. I appreciate the help I might get from this thread. |

I can confirm this. I just looked it up. The spiked shield is a single shield with a blade in it, and is considered an off-hand weapon. It is a light-blade. As such you can get enchantments, etc. It's funny because the entry specifically says that you can't dual wield it, but you should go ahead and do it anyway. |
| #7cwildeJul 13, 2009 19:48:31 | thanks, i was wondering if you could enchant spiked shields as weapons ans shields and now i know. oh and what is the Adventure's Vault? |
| #8sushijunkieJul 13, 2009 20:16:29 | thanks, i was wondering if you could enchant spiked shields as weapons ans shields and now i know. oh and what is the Adventure's Vault? It's a D&D supplement book. A crapload of items, etc. |
| #9cwildeJul 14, 2009 14:51:45 | It's a D&D supplement book. A crapload of items, etc. i have a D&D supplemental called arms and equipment guide with a lot of gear in it, but iv never heard of that one...i just looked it up, is it a 4e book, because i don't play 4e, i still play 3.5 because its what i have and what my friends play |
| #10pluisjenJul 14, 2009 16:09:47 | Fluff it. Wield a sword and a shield, and reflavor the sword as another shield. Probably the easiest way to pull it off ![]() |
| #11cwildeJul 16, 2009 14:06:32 | i dont see why it would be hard to make, the only issues i could think of is feats and enchantment, could you take weapon focus shiel, and could you enchant it with weapon enchants |
| #12chaosfangJul 17, 2009 0:25:22 | I'm thinking they specifically placed the "can't dual wield spiked shields" to avoid a potential cheese for benefiting from both shield bonus + offensive capabilities but regardless I'd say if you're really into the dual shield wielding then why not? :P |
| #13QubeJul 17, 2009 2:02:06 | Fluff it. I agree. |
| #14heathan_v20Jul 17, 2009 16:30:09 | I actually was planning on playing a warforged in a game like that once. He was dual wielding 2 light shields and his name was either gonna be Wall, Barrier (everyone could call him Barry :D), or just flat out AWESOME!!! |
