Hi All,

I just wanted to spruke my own D&D app for the iPad: "Dungeon Mapp".

It's a way to quickly and easily create a room for a single encounter, or set up a full dungeon (up to 50 x 50 squares) that can unveil itself as play goes on. Tokens are customizable and contain information on movement rates and status, and the app has a bunch of decals to decorate rooms to your hearts content. There are a range of DM features as well, including portaling to other mapps, hidden areas and the ability to spawn all the party members onto a new mapp. It's fully compatible with an external monitor or can be passed around the table.

I'm after feedback on what features you think I should add, so please let me know if you have any thoughts!

Cheers,

Dex

I would go with an ap that generates a black and white map that looks a lot like a pen & paper drafted dungeon on white (or off white) graph paper - maybe with a degree of ink error to make it look more natural. Maybe even one that can generate a 'dungeon' inside a user defined area: so I can draw a circle allowing the ap to generate within the limits of that area.

What is really needed is an ap that can generate a megadungeon. Mega means million (x10^6). So a megadungeon would have a million rooms. Even if you could draw a thousand rooms per day it would take three years to create a megadungeon by hand.

Thanks for the feedback! Auto generating dungeons is a neat idea, are you thinking about just the rooms or are you thinking about populating them with enemies and items?

A megadungeon is a massive task. With Dungeon Mapp you can daisy chain mapps together: the portal for one mapp can be linked to the party token of another, so essentially you can have as many mapps as space on your iPad. Could you get to a million rooms? Possibly, I might have to crunch some numbers Smile

Seems like a great "mapp". However, I'd like to know a thing before I go ahead and buy it. Does this map support the VGA Output? Because being able to hook it up to a "big screen" and show all my players what is going on would be a cool feature.

Hey Scarlex, yes, I have lots of users who use the (m)app like this. Laughing

I originally designed the app to be handed around the table so that everyone can move thier individual tokens, but it looks like I misread that need!

It's me again :p

So I bought the (m)app and I love it so far. Though I seem to be unable to get it to work with the VGA output. I plug it in, launch the app and nothing happens. Naturally I would expect that one must press play to activate it, but it still refuses to display anything. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I hear there's an update coming soon. Looking forward to it!
