I need a dwarven stornhold for a game tomorrow evening (July 14th). This is just a place they will be passing through so I don't need much any help out there?

This is a 4th ed game but I can take anything and make it work as long as it is not to recognizable.

Thanks

If you have it or can find it, there's an old 3.5 book dealing specifically with strongholds and other fortified establishments that could be of use: The Stronghold Builder's Guidebook. If you can find it, it wouldn't hurt giving it a flip through.

Other than that, if they're not doing much just give them what a stronghold generally is: Have them enter through the main gates to a courtyard, perhaps show them about to other areas of the hold like the quarters, great hall, throne room, armory, forge, etc. Be sure to add in a brewery since it's dwarven... Provided that's how your dwarves are.

Also be sure to note the style of the place. Since it's dwarven, it'd probably be more rugged, functional, and geometrically-designed than, say, the elegant curves of an elven city.

Is there an actual encounter that is going to be taking place in the stronghold? Otherwise I am not sure you need to do much work at all. As said before describe a gate, a courtyard, some outer buildings and an inner keep.

If you want architecture details make it easy on yourself and look at pictures of Ironforge from World of Warcraft on the net. All things aside that city in the game is always how I pictured a dwarven city to look. You can also look at any Dun * location from the game (all dwarven if I remember) for smaller strongholds and stuff.

If you are looking for a map. Just grab some graph paper and go nuts for a few minutes. Strongholds are one of the easiest things to design, honestly. If there is no combat encounter in the stronghold (meaning, the players will just RP while there), don't even worry about a map at all.
