| #3rampantFeb 28, 2011 23:30:43 | The slayer is only good for MBA, let them get as much as they can out of it. |

Saves you have to deal with things like Impaling Spear and Deft Blade and Martial Supremacy and Surpising Charge on your Slayers and Rogues. Keeping the 4eE item rules away from your artificer is probably a good idea as well, for a whole lot of reasons. |

Warlords can grant said Slayer with really power MBA a slew of extra attacks, which are balanced because MBA are supposed to be "meh" at best, yet these are more like "omgwtfbbq" in power. I've never seen it played, but this is the (possible just perceived) problem. |

Exactly. An O4e basic attack granting leader (especially but not limited to the warlord) with a 4eE striker (especially but not limited to the slayer) in the party is a leader that deals striker damage. |
| #8LightWardenMar 01, 2011 14:59:17 | Warlords make Slayers better, but I don't think they really make them broken. Slayers can't spike damage as well as other O4e strikers, they just perform higher on basics to compensate. Would you argue that a warlord who grants enough of an attack bonus to turn a striker's miss with a gut-busting daily into a hit is also doing striker level damage? It just seems wonkier because people can't as easily measure the effects of a leader class. With a striker you can look at the damage you did, with a defender you can look at the enemies you blocked, with a controller you can look at the enemies you locked down and out, but it's harder to see how the bonuses for a leader add up. And a warlord specializing in granting basic attacks is going to have some shortfalls in other areas. |
