I'm not a very religious person, but a religion is tied very deeply to the culture of its people, and that's something I'd like to have in my game. So I've build up a little feykind pantheon that has more crunch and is build more like a real religion. -Oberroth: Father of the feykind, creator of Arcadia(The feywild) Lord of the Silver court and carver of stars. Oberroth is the King of the elven pantheon. He is depicted as being strong and wise, but also tricky and wrathful. He is Married to Arthemis, tho he had many children with other women. -Arthemis: Wife of Oberroth and Goddess of the wilderness. Patron of hunting. The goddess of the wild is know to be proud and insightful. -Lunalis: Daughter of Oberroth and Arthemis, goddess of the moon, of songs and of dancing. Lunalis is the mother of all elves, she once fell in love with a human king, giving birth to the first elves. She is caring and merciful. -Selian: Son of Oberroth and Arthemis, god of weather and patron of art. He is also called the god of passion, inspirering artist to make great peices. -Deleia: Daughter of Oberroth and Arthemis, she is the Patron of craftmanship. She made a sword that could cut throught the hardest steel and gave it to Oberroth. She made a bow that could shoot beyond the horizon and gave it to Arthemis. -Azur: Son of Oberroth and Deleia, keeper of knowledge and patron of education. -Wyld: Daughter of Oberroth and the Giantess Mataris, goddess of strengh and exelence in battle. -Deteros: Son of Oberroth and the red dragon Cyandestrix, god of destruction and chaos. Of course, what religion would be completed without some stories? ---The birth of the elves. Lunalis brought a moon to the mortal world, so that even in their darkest hours, they would have a glimmer of light to give them hope. One particular mortal was facinated with the mysterious light of the moon. Night after night he would stare at it in aw. One night, unable to bear being appart from the moon any longer, he droped to his knees, and with open arms pleeded: ''Gods and godess of the sky, if you can hear me, I beg of you, make this moon mine and mine alone. And in front of him appeared Lunalis. Lunalis took him back to Arcadia, and from their union the elven race was born. ---The exile of the elven race. The elves where growing quickly, and Lunalis, fearing to hurt them in any way, blindly gave them everything they wanted. The elves became greedy and chaotic, and soon began to take more from the land then they needed. Oberroth, angered by the greed of the elves, casted them out of Arcadia and into the mortal world. ---The redemption. Lunalis pleeded to her father to let the elves come back in Arcadia, Oberroth then declared: ''The elves are a fallen race, they shall live their live in the mortal world, and upon their death, shall be reborn in Arcadia. Should they had a sinful life however, their soul will be left to wander ethernaly.'' And thus, Oberroth gave the elves four law to abide by: -----Never take from the land more then you need, never hunt more then you can eat. -----Embrace the grace and beauty of the feykind, never let yourself become the servant of the non-fey. -----Honor the gods and godess of Arcadia, never forget your origine. -----Embrace magic, as it is a natural part of the world, do not fear what you do not understand. And of course there are many more stuff to be added, rituals and holidays, more stories and such, but I feel my post is big enough as it is. |

The Complete Book of Elves gives some creation myths. The Demihuman Dieties book has lots of information about what the priests' duties are. That being said your origin story is a bit problematic for most worlds. In most settings the elves arrive before other sentient races. Your origin story requires a mortal race first. Your new deities have less information than the core gods. The legends you've created only include two of the gods. |
