Prerequisites: any Arcane class; Skill Focus (Religion) Flavor Text: (blank due to lack of imagination) Immortality? From the Light into the Darkness, So Shall I Pass: After you have completed your final quest, you transcend into the Darkness of the Abyss. You become a part of the darkness and your power fuels rituals for future worshippers of the Dark. Many years from now, you begin gaining power from sacrifices and worshippers of your own. You are beyond immortal; for without darkness, there can never be light. Embodiment of Darkness Features Every Embodiment of Darkness has the following features. Darkness of Night (21st Level): Once per day, as a minor action, you may give Darkvision to yourself and each ally within 5 squares of you. This Darkvision lasts until the end of the current encounter or for five minutes. At any time until the end of the encounter, you or any ally can end this darkvision as a free action after hitting an enemy. That enemy is blind (save ends.) Darkness' Embrace (24th Level): Once per day when you die, your body turns into a black cloud of pure darkness. This cloud is the same size as your body was and takes up the same amount of room. You may occupy squares with other creatures, blocking line of sight and effect to and from their square. You cannot attack and cannot be attacked while in this form. You can communicate with your allies through a very limited range telepathy: you must be in the square with them. You may resume your normal form as a Standard action. You may remain in this form for up to 24 hours. After 24 hours, you must return to your former self or risk being lost forever. After 24 hours have passed, make a saving roll vs. death with a +15 bonus. If you succeed, you may remain in the cloud form and can resume your normal form. For each hour after 24 hours, make the same saving roll vs. death but subtract 1 from the bonus, to a minimum of -15 penalty to the saving roll. If you fail this saving roll at any time, you are dead- lost to the darkness of the abyss. Complete Darkness (30th Level): Every burst and blast attack power to which you have access gains the following at the end of the Hit line: "The target is blinded (save ends.) If this power already causes blindness, then the target takes a -5 penalty to save against the blind condition, instead." Embodiment of Darkness Power Dark Visage Utility 26 You channel darkness through your arcane implement and focus it on the task at hand. _______________________ Daily ✦ Arcane, Necrotic Immediate Interrupt Action Personal Trigger: You are affected by a Fear effect or blindness, which a save can end. _______________________ Effect: Cancel all fear effects and blindness on you and spend a healing surge. Any allies adjacent to you may do the same. As a free action, before the end of the encounter, you may cancel any one effect which a save can end on yourself or an adjacent ally. |

Remember an "Effect:" occours reguardless of weather you hit or not, so even if you miss you would still blind the target, gaurenteeing blindness with your attacks is a little too powerful even for 4th I think. |
| #3UndrhilJan 03, 2009 12:04:07 | Well, I had considered making the line read "Effect: Each target is blinded (save ends.)" which would mean that they would have to be careful to avoid targetting allies (or use the feat to allow them to "deselect" ally squares in the burst/blast radius.) Ooo! What if I make it so it's tacked on at the end of the Hit: line intead? So that anytime a power actually hits, it causes blindness? Yeah, I like that. ![]() |
