| #1DeathByDonutMar 24, 2012 2:46:19 | I am coming up with an episodic dungeon delving series of session. I wish to make the storylines for each of the dungeons different, but similar. My idea is that every single dungeon delve's story is the party stopping an event in the dungeon that would otherwise wipe out the world. I just am having troubles coming up with additional ideas. This is what I have. End of the world dungeon ideas Void Machine: A buried machine that was built by a group of aberrations to utterly wipe out the materials plane. Once the Machine is activated a begins to build up around the machine and it grows larger and larger until the entire plane is wiped from existence. Elemental Dungeon of Air: Long ago four great elemental lords of wind were fed up with the material plane the mortal's excesses, so the lords sent massive tornados and hurricanes. At the brink of destruction the deities stepped in and made a deal with the elemental lords. The gods will build an arena to test the mettle of the mortals, once every 100 years at dawn a temple will appear, and if the brazier of elements is not lit by a champion by sundown the world will be destroyed. Awakening: An ancient mad god of chaos has been slumbering deep in the earth, however he is starting to awake and the party must travel to the depths of the dungeon to find out why the bonds keeping the god asleep are weakening. |

Brutal savage primal spirits of blood and predation fought against spirits of growth and rebirth. In the end the savage spirits were defeated or diminished, and the majority were sealed in a great fiery prison in the center of the world. If released, their centuries of pent-up bloodlust will transform all beasts and plants in the world to creatures of pure carnage, and doom all civilization to extinction. Now a coven of evil druids has learned of this prison, and plans to release them... The City of Madness The mighty illithid empire if Nihilath once spread throughout the entire underdark in the infancy of the world before the roiling chaos subsided into stability. However, even in this early stage of creation, there was a vast ruined metropolis at the center of their realm. It's architecture was clearly of Illithid construction, yet none could say when the city was built nor say when it had ever been inhabited. In reality, it is R'lyeth, the "first" illithid city. However, as befits the mad beings that constructed it, it moves backward through time, having appeared in the world as an abandoned ruin, yet moving towards a city of unprecedented power and then forward still until it ends as a tiny newborn settlement. Unbeknownst to a world that has nearly forgotten of its existence, it's time of ascendancy is at hand, when R'lyeth and the being of unspeakable power that rules it will assert their dominance over all creation. |

Armageddon: A rogue angel driven insane by the forces of chaos intends on unlocking the seals of the world so the final battle between angel, devil, demon, and mortals occur on the material plane. |

I wasn't attempting to be subtle, and I was hoping someone would get the obvious C'thulhu reference. A cookie for you. |

I do enjoy cookies! That would be a great dungeon though. |
