| #1glimeral_dupFeb 06, 2009 15:17:33 | WYRMFIRE ADEPT You don't just revere dragons. In the depths of your soul, you know that you are one just waiting its moment to hatch. Prerequisites: 21st level; Dragonborn, or Dragon Soul Sorcerer; Charisma 21 As a wyrmfire adept, you are proud, pragmatic, and arrogant in your belief that the blood of dragons smoulders in your breast. Not satisfied with a mere ember of draconian might, you seek every opportunity to stoke the flames within your heart into a roaring inferno, you believe will one day allow you to transcend your mortal form and take your place among the greatest of dragons. A fate you feel is deserving of one with your proud and mighty herritage. As such, you may be proud and elitist in your behaviour towards the "lesser" races, seek out opportunities to converse with (and emulate the behaviour of) other great and mighty dragons, or perhaps begin the process of carving out a lair and territory of your own. Route to Immortality: While not the only path to immortality, the majority of Wyrmfire Adepts eventually seeks to attain Dragon Apothesis, and become that which in their heart they know themselves to be. Dragon Apothesis: Your inner dragon hatches from its humanoid shell, transforming you into the True and Mighty dragon that you are. Your size becomes Gargantuan, and you gain the Attacks, powers, and features of a True Dragon of your chosen Type (adjusted for being a 30th level creature). You retain your own Hit Points (adjusted for becoming a Solo Creature), and ability scores (if greater than those of the advanced dragon you become). In addition, you retain all Paragon Path features, while gaining the Class features of an NPC of your class. Finally, you retain the use of 1 At-Will, 2 Encounter, 2 Daily, and 2 Utility powers of your choice, regardless of source (class, paragon path, power-swap feat etc). Among the mightiest of all Wyrms, you may then choose to lord over your own realm; proclaim yourself King among Dragons; or travel the planes. Few dragons (and even fewer mortals) will stand against you regardless of the decisions you make. Wyrmfire Adept Features All Wyrmfire Adepts have the following features. Claws of the Dragon (21st level): Your claws lengthen into wicked claws which deal 1d8 damage on an unarmed attack. You are considered proficient with your claws (+2 proficiency). Increase your Strength by 2 points. Dragon Wings (24th level): You develop a pair of large draconic wings which grant you a +5 bonus on all Athletics (Jump) checks, the ability to treat all long jumps as if made from a running start, and the ability to glide harmlessly from any height. (30th level): ???? Suggestions welcome. Wyrmfire Adept Power Dragon Flight (Utility 26): Encounter; Minor Action; Personal. You gain a Fly Speed of 8 until the end of your next turn. Sustain Minor: You can sustain this power until the end of the encounter or for 5 minutes. If you don't sustain it, you glide to the ground harmlessly. |

The game-rules part is superfluous: after you reach immortality, you retire from the game. Claws of the Dragon (21st level): Your claws lengthen into wicked claws which deal 1d8 damage on an unarmed attack. You are considered proficient with your claws (+2 proficiency). Increase your Strength by 2 points. Horribly useless: you gain a melee attack (and you belong to a ranged class!) that would never hit, since it doesn't gain enhancement bonuses. Think about something else, perhaps inspired by the power of draconic blood (or, hell, give the +2 Str and Cha. demigod and prison of the wind so it already). Dragon Wings (24th level): You develop a pair of large draconic wings which grant you a +5 bonus on all Athletics (Jump) checks, the ability to treat all long jumps as if made from a running start, and the ability to glide harmlessly from any height. Looks nice. Wyrmfire Adept Power Seems balanced. |
