I'm not positive I know what your asking for.

Are you trying to convert your 3.5 rules to 4e? Are you trying to make an Eragon game?

In pure basic structure, Eragon is nothing more than a very minor setting adjustment. Make a single kingdom and king with a majority of all the power, everyone else hates him and hides from him.

Dragons are uncommon if even in general existance. Specifically unless your players are going to pseudo-play Eragon himself, they may never see one.

I'm not implying its not worth doing, but after reading book one and two myself, the only real substance to an Eragon setting would be to play out the story line.

In my opinion, just play Star Wars, because Eragon is really fantasy Period Star Wars.

Dragon Riders=Jedi
A Dragon Rider turned on the rest and wiped them out (Jedi Purge)
A princess steals something of great importance and power, gets captured but sends the thing away. (Leia and the Death Star Plans)
A Farm boy finds it, and takes care of it. (Luke and R2-D2)
The evil imperial soldiers come and kill his Uncle and burns his farm down
The boy meets up with an old Dragon rider, who teaches him the ways of Dragon riding and Swordsmanship, and magic (Obi Wan and The force).
They Go to rescue the princess, and are helped out by a scoundrel. (Rescue Leia with Han Solo)
The older Dragon rider sacrifices himself to save the others (Obi Wan Dies)

etc.

Yeah the Eragon series is a work that "borrows" most of it's story and ideas from much better written and more popular fantasy including: Star Wars(By far the most obvious), Anne Mccaffery(sp?)'s stuff and Lord of the Rings.

It really would never have been published except his parents own the publisher that was used.

His parents owned the publisher? I did not know that. Ya learn something new every day.

But back to the point, you may want to look into some of the d20 Star wars books for campaign ideas on what to do to make it be more of an imperial owned setting.

Most of the mechanics can stay for 4th edition. Like another poster said it's just a small setting shift.
