Ok, while I was watching a show I like; American Dad, I realised the plot of that episode would make a great adventure that would fit perfectly into eberron, after you changed some stuff. Here's the overall premise of the episode, I won't go into the process of names and whatnot, i'll just call them NPCs and PCs;

_________________________________________________________

PCs are doing research on George Washington Carver (man who made peanuts), and while trying to find out about all the stuff he did, they pick up some of his brand of peanut butter. Upon further inspection of the peanutbutter jar it had a small symbol on it, and on all the other brand's jars was the same weird symbol.

After asking a teacher about it, he claims he knows nothing. After the PCs leave he makes a phonecall... (he has weird symbol on his wrist).

PCs talk to creepy librarian, and after talking to her she refers them to a friend she knows. He's a curator at the town's museum, he gives them his number and tell them they should give him a call and figure out when they could meet him.

PCs call him in a telephone booth (in the rain), and he says: "The truth needs to get out, meet me in my office in an hour," headlights shine on the booth and car crashes into it. It was a drunk driver.

PCs make it to the museum, area is roped off and police are everywhere. The curator was murdered, but before died he had time to write a message on the floor in his blood (the message made no sense, but the letters could be rearranged to spell "find the monocle").

PCs find the monocle, but it is large and on the end of a pendulum of a grnadfather clock in his office. In the center of the monocle is the weird symbol.

With no more clues to go off of the PCs wander to somewhere. On their process of travelling, they are assaulted by a group of people with the symbol. The fight seems hopeless, and unwinable, but a NPC they know rescues them.

He tells them that they're in over their heads, and to give him the monocle. After they decline to do so, he tells them to meet him at the bank. In an old bank vault, he explains;

Many years ago, back during the civil war when the south faced defeat from the north, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and Robert Lee came up with a plan. Abraham's wife had come up with peanut butter (although not named that at the time), and the three of them decided that they would lead the north to believe that an afican american had made the substance, and upon seeing how great something came from a slave they would end the war. John Wilkes Booth head of the plan and killed the three.
Thirty years later, Abraham's grandson heard of his plan and had recently heard of George Washington Carver (the guy who did all the peanut stuff), who was a botanist, and decided to continue his grandfather's plans. He placed a jar of peanut butter on his doorstep and ran.

Back in the bank vault, he continues to explain that a group started shortly afterwards and became a secret society devoted to keeping the secret that George Washington Carver did not invent peanut butter. The NPC tells them that the only way the public will belive them is with proof, he tells them that the only evidence is the original jar of peanut butter. He states that the group has been searching for it for years, and if the group comes across it before they do, they'll destroy it. He pulls out a map, and states that they are one step ahead through. The map can only be read by the monocle.

After reading the map, it did not have locations, or landmarks, but a message; Find the cane that bore Old Glory. (with an address afterwards)

The address led them to a strip club, where they found out that Old Glory was the nation's first famous stripper, and the cane was her pole (shaped like a cane). The cane held a letter inside, instructing them to attach the monocle to the end, and let light from a setting sun shine unto the map to reveal the destination of the third clue. So they went to an old street, layed down the map, and did as instructed. The map burst into flames. In the ashes was the message; Tip your hat in the garden of eden.

They realized that by eden it meant "first", so they travelled to the first national botanical garden and inspected their only peanut plant. And it turned out that the pot was an upside down top-hat. After realizing that all these things are items that Mr. Peanut wears they headed off to place all the items on the statue of Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial. He was the original Mr. Peanut.

After placing the items on the statue, a secret passage opened revealing a tunnel deep down. At the bottem, over a river of flowing lava was the jar high up on a pedestal. The NPC tried to reach it, and the PCs notice that the NPC has the strange symbol on his lower back. The PCs play it cool, and go along with it and let the NPC help them up to it. After grabbing the jar the place begins to collapse, and the main PC switches the Original Jar, for the store bought version in his backpack. After a quick heated discussion with the NPC, they hand over the bag, in which case the NPC realizes. About this time the BBEG walks in and demands the original jar, they are now outnumbered and (unwillingly) give over the real jar. The NPC "helps" the BBEG by putting the Original Jar in the back pack so it along with the monocle, and map could all be destroyed in one fell swoop (he winks at the PCs).

The place, now really starting to collapse knocks the BBEG into the lava, killing him. The NPC and the PCs escape the cosing secret passage just bearly. They then realise that the NPC didn't switch over the jars, so both were destroyed, and neither the PCs or the BBEG won.

That was more or less the episode. Now I'd like to run this in Sharn, and obviously it needs some changes. Specificly the Civil War, and the peanut theme. I'm thinking replacing Abraham Lincoln with an artificer who had created a magic item (eldritch machine, dragonshard based, or soemthing else) and maybe credit the creation to a warforged. The item would've greatly benefited the public, and would be something he was known for. The stripper club will allow me to finally use the Firelight District in Sharn, but does anyone else have any ideas? I really need some help here. Obviously more encounters will be added, definately at the telephone booth and outside the strip club when they're leaving.

Anyone?
