So I'm thinking of a Heroic-tier feat that would give the taker an extra minor action each round. (I don't have a catchy name for it yet, so if anyone has suggestions, let me know.)

I find that my Wizard could really use an extra minor action (so he'd have 1 Standard, 1 Move, 2 Minor) so that he can deal with multiple sustainable powers. I'm not sure how powerful this would be with other classes.

Does this seem like it would be much more powerful than other Heroic-tier feats? Looking for general feedback on power level.

Thanks!

Yes it's more powerful than other heroic tier feats, or for that matter nearly any feat in the game. It might be an appropriate feature for a paragon path, maybe.

If you allow PC Kobolds (and you shouldn't) it's broken just on the basis of that; but that's really more of a problem with kobolds than with your feat.

The short reason why it's broken is this: a minor action is as good as the best thing you can do with a minor action. The fact alone that you could sustain two conjurations or zones per turn instead of one without forfeiting your move action or standard action is game-breaking all by itself. Any build that can deal damage with a minor as an at-will breaks the feat; any build with a significant number of encounter or daily actions that deal damage on a minor action breaks the feat (because they can front-load their damage and neuter enemies before they act).

Consider how valuable an action point is; you get one every two encounters and it buys you a single action. Granted, that can be a standard action, but don't you think a minor EVERY ROUND is better than an action point? Action points should be better than heroic tier feats by a fair margin.

An appropriate heroic tier feat would be to give the character an extra minor action once per day. That's something my cleric would be tempted to buy. Try that out and see how it goes, why don'cha.

Make it epic and add a condition that the free minor action is only for sustaning powers. Everything else opens a whole new world of abuse.

An extra minor action once per encounter might work as a heroic tier feat. Or getting two minor actions instead of one standard action from spending an AP.

Edit: Or how about 1/encounter: Exchange 1 standard action for 2 minor actions?

Your Wizard can of course forgo his Move action, and exchange it to a Minor, to keep 2 effects sustained . . . so you could also play off of that with a more specific feat e.g. "Nonchalent Move" - "Once per encounter the hero can use a Move action to both: Walk (or Shift), and in addition sustain any power requiring a Sustain Minor. The hero may choose to Shift instead of Walk, but may not make any other type of maneuver usually allowed by a Move action (e.g. run, climb, stand up or swim)"

Even when you get to Paragon and Epic tiers, the effect of extra actions is very powerful, because the effects of those actions scale with level. I cannot see any way to grant an extra Minor each round in a balanced way.

I like the idea of an encounter ability to gain an extra minor action, and am seriously considering adding this as a heroic feat.

if you want to sustain two powers either sit still and use your move action or twiddle your thumbs as you move and uses your standard action.   Sustaining a daily is about as powerful as using an at will.
