| #1chieftaintwilightMar 31, 2011 18:25:50 | I'm running two 3.5 edition Eberron campaigns that I'm interweaving Sandbox-Style, and I'm needing some help with planning. see, the overall goals of the Campaign(s?) is(/are?) two-fold; Character Development and Storytelling. the overarching plot is a grand one by my personal estimation. Erandis Vol is constantly working throughout the Campaign behind the scenes to achieve her apotheosis, using the Draconic Prophecy and collecting Syberis Dragonshards for a powerful Ritual Ceremony. I of course intend for her to succeed near the end of the campaign. the Lords of Dust are of course hoping to capitalize on this development if they can, or stop it from occuring (each cabal to their own devices, as some will be able to potentially release their Overlords this way, and others will have their Demon-Gods stuck for inconveniantly long periods no matter what they do if Erandis pulls off her stunt). so, they are also going to be heavy players in the field when the game realy takes off. one of my players is playing an Elven Warmage (intending to go Elemental Savant) who is defecting from his family who are Khyber Cultists. naturally, I'm throwing their schemes in as well (and also the Family Finch, just cause I want to use them XD). in the first adventure, the players rescued a commanding officer of theirs (the Lord Major Bren ir'Gaddin) and his servant, Aric Blacktree, who was chained up on the surface of a Prophecy Mark and comatose at the time (both Bren and Aric are Half-Elves, if that matters to any of you). four years after that (that part of the adventure was a flashback to the Last War) they find out that Aric has developed an Aberrant Dragonmark and tried to destroy Sharn with a Doomsday Device (this Adventure Module is found in the 4th edition Eberron Campaign Guide. I adapted it to 3.5 edition). I want the Blood of Vol and House Tarkanaan to be competing for Aric's Allegience. anywho, so far, i've involved my players in both Campaigns with a pair of House Sivis Gnomes named Nedwick and Odanodan. the first is the proprietor of a Jewelry Shoppe (selling both Magical and Mundane Jewelry) who is secretly an Artificer. the second is his contact, a Spymaster who works at a House Kundarak Bank in Rekkenmark, where he notarizes Marks of Credit (the player who is in the solo campaign is a Beguiler name Jack Lucky ir'Spade [Blackjack] who has decided to forge a lasting relationship with Odanodan via a binding contract to have his forged legal documents notarized in exchange for services as Odanodan's personal agent). I'm also about to introduce the characters to possible confrontation with Storm Front Cultists (who are selling Syberis Dragonshards to an Abactor of the Blood of Vol in Rekkenmark), and also a group of Bandits who are led by a Changeling woman (though she changes gender as often as form, leading the Bugbear Bard to believe that she is a servant or avatar of the Traveler, and the two of hem together are enough to convince everyone else in their Band to obey her). here are the Player Characters: Goofy Goodman: Lawful Good female Human Cleric1/Sorcerer1 of the Sovereign Host (Domains: Healing and Protection). weilds a Longsword. planning on going Mythic Theurge. played by Justin. I'm realy trying to convince him to change the name, but the best I got is that "Goofy" is a nickname; real first name still pending. >.> Alphonso something something something de Montoijo: (you killed my father, prepare to die. XD ) Chaotic [strike]Neutral[/strike] Evil Male Elf Warmage2. weilds a Longbow and a Battleaxe, but usually just casts Hail of Stone or Stone Fist (or Magic Missile). is planning on becoming an Elemental Savant (probably Fire, but I'm guessing Earth). his family are Khyber Cultists who are inexorably evil. they favour Arcane Spellcasters. played by Taylor. "the street rat": Neutral Evil male Changeling Rogue1/Fighter1. intending to become a Government Assassin. currently weilds a pair of Daggers, but will eventually switch to Kukris. played by Eli (my brother), who is competing with Taylor for having the Character with the lowest Honour Score. Kristos: Chaotic Neutral male Razorclaw Shifter Cleric1/Barbarian1 (Domains: Weather and Evil). planning on becoming a Weretouched Master. weilds a Bastard Sword and Shuriken. just joined. played by Bob. Jack Lucky ir'Spade (goes by the Alias "Blackjack"): Chaotic Neutral male Human Beguiler1. planning on getting a single level of Mindbender, and 5 levels of Fatespinner. I dunno what he currently weilds, cause he never draws weapons, but he eventually will use a Whip-Dagger. is played solo by Daniel. the Spade family were founded by an ancestor who made his fortune from nothing. Jack Spade I was a down-on-his-luck Gravedigger (hence the name "Spade", despite initial assumptions) who would pass the hours a bars gambling at cards. he would cheat, but the usual crowd would let him get away with it because they knew he was poor and they were only playing for Coppers. one night, a stranger came into the bar and played the cards with them. eventually it came down to just Jack and the stranger, and both of them were cheating in very blatant and obvious ways (for example, in some hands they would both have 4 Aces). they decided to settle it once and for all, one hand, no cheating. well, they both cheated on that hand, but the stranger won. he gave Jack his lucky Deck of Cards (which Blackjack has on his character sheet and we are using it as a Legacy Item). the next night, while Jack was digging a new grave, he saw a Noble Lord being accosted by thugs or assassins. he helped the Nobleman fend off his attackers, and then brought him to his hut. the Noble died that night, but first signed over his Feif. after that, Jack and all his descendants came upon incredible economic good luck which elavated them to the status they now have (for example, one time there was a high demand for a particular type of fish, and so the price of that species was increased. a fisherman found himself with a ton of fish he needed to get rid of quickly, so he was selling it at a very good bargain, and it just happened to be the type of fish that was in such high demand). well, the Spade Family has become more and more noble over time, and they need to present themselves as properly and proffessionaly among their peers in he Courts as they can. Blackjack hates being told what to do, and putting on so many faces for everyone in such a boring manner, so he rebels against his parents. he also loves to Gamble, so he steals alot of money and valuables from his family's coffers, and loses it all in his endeavors (under the alias "Blackjack" he devised for himself). when his parents find out, they try to disown him, so he runs away and is trying to find a wa to keep his family name and Noble Status. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ there are also two characters who will be introduced later. L.E.R.o.Y: I forget what the acronym stands for, but the character is a Lawful Evil Warforged Fighter2. he is planning on becoming a Warforged Juggernaut (possibly also with a level of Barbarian). he uses a Greatsword, a Maul, and a Spiked Shield. Eli wants to play this character when his Rogue dies, or possibly when he's ready to turn over his Rogue to me as an NPC. Gavin: Lawful Good Dragonborn Human Cleric of Bahaumut (Domains: Protection and I don't know the other one right now). is planning on becoming a homebrew lesser version of the Warden of Bahaumut Prestige Class, which involves a very tricky and complicated plan to overcome requirement difficulties. Gavin will be introduced in the otherwise solo game next session as Blackjack's companion(/dupe). he will be played by Daniel. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ now, I have my overarchingtheme, my main plot points, etcetera... the big plan.. but the tiny details inbetween, and individual adventure ideas are still unfleshed. I'd love any ideas you guys have got. |

| #3chieftaintwilightApr 05, 2011 10:37:56 | huh... that actually could be a good idea, given that I have a Shifter inthe party who worships one of the Dark Six... the Devourer of all of them. =w=
update; Eli's secondary character, L.E.R.o.Y., has been changed. it's now a Lawful Evil Warforged Warrior-Variant Paladin of Tyranny2, still planning on becoming a Warforged Juggernat, and also hoping to get something to function like guns built into him somewhere, and get a Tauric Belt. |
