Key Skill Arcana, Thievery, or Nature (no check)

This allows you to create an explosive grenade.

This weapon can be used as a Ranged Basic attack.

Paper Cartridge
Level 6
Component cost 5 gp*, plus 2 lbs of black powder OR 1 lb of smokeless powder
Catagory Volatile
Market Price 75 gp
Time 30 minutes
Key Skill Arcana, Thievery, or Nature (no check)

This allows you to make 20 wrapped paper cartridges to make loading muzzle-loaded firearms a minor action instead of a standard action.

*If you use smokeless powder for your paper cartridges, you will need to use bullets that have been specially coated with copper or nickel or brass; this increases the cost to 10 gp.  The coating is to prevent lead from accumulating in the barrel and causing your weapon to experience a forced-chamber explosion (if this happens, it will cause 3d10 damage to you, and 1d10 damage to anyone in a square adjacent to you).

Brass Cartridge
Level 11
Component cost 15 gp*, plus 2lbs of black powder OR 1lb of smokeless powder
Catagory Volatile
Market Price 500 gp**
Time 30 minutes
Key Skill Arcana, Thievery, or Nature (no check)

This allows ou to make 20 brass cartridges for firearms that are designed to take brass cartridges.  Included in these are breech-loaded firearms (including falling block and break action), revolvers, lever-actions, pump actions, and semi-automatic weapons.

*This cost reflects the cost of the brass casings, the primers (which are used to initiate the firing process after the trigger is pulled) and the lead bullets.  If you use smokeless powder, you will need to use bullets coated with copper, brass, or nickel, which increases the price by 15 gp.  If you have saved your brass casings from your previous adventure, then you do not need to purchase new brass casings, and the cost in reduced by 10 gp.

**The market price for this includes the equipment you will need to permit loading and reloading of brass cartridges.
