I guess it is related to the Mage not really being as fun, versatile, interesting, powerful as the 3rd edition version. They were thinking it might help to either: 1) Make the Utility powers for the mage rituals, and assign them costs or 2) Allowing the mage to choose more than 2 utility spells when he gains a utility (maybe 3-4). I kind of sympathise with this because while the Archer and the ranger and the fighter are so much more powerful and interesting in this edition, the wizard is kind of boring. I havent played this system yet (I am DMing) but I don't think I would appreciate having to choose between Dispel Magic and Invisibility... I also would like some way to be able to cast invisibility more than once a day as a high level wizard. Anyways, do you think this would be unbalancing? PEACH |
