Maybe a Paragon level feat? Surprising Reach also may be a bit much by allowing area attacks to benefit from the reach. I'm just not really seeing it from a flavor perspective (it seems to require some physical stretching), and I think it may make them a bit too attractive of a race for melee defenders or anyone with melee burst attacks. I think leaving it as just a Move is fine, and have it last until the start of the next turn. |

Suprising Reach was basically a throw back to the Goliath Barbarian racial substitution level in 3.5. When they raged, they became fully large. Rather than try to duplicate actually become large, I set it up so that with a bit of preparation, they can temporarily aquire the greatest benefit of large size, reach. Following basic 4th edition design, they only get it on their own turn. I'd probably flavor it as overextending himself for the attack, but taking a moment to regain balance. Of course, I forgot to mention how long it lasts, I've edited that in. Thanks for the input. |
