| #1yusakuasanoJul 26, 2008 20:40:26 | Well, here is the backround: In a dark world when evil and tyrrany have conquered the druidic magic and power have been cut out. Now the pcs are in the road to bring back the Godess of the Beasts (actually the druidic power). In this path the pcs have to find the lost race (shifters), tame the flying beast (a paragon griffon) and awake the sleeping serpent (actually an enormous-gargantuan serpent(s) deep below). (no particular order these 3 parts) I am in the part of the awakening the serpent(s). The setting is an underground swampy huge cave. The cave is envisioned like a jungle of phosphorised giant mushrooms. This cave was the battling ground of two tribes. One of lizard folk and the other of troglodytes. When the pcs finally get the ritual scrolls must perform the ritual to awake the serpent. Have any ideas about the ritual part? It seems i cant find a very cool idea about the ritual proccessing... there are 3 players: a ranger elf, a tiefling paladin and a npc human cleric. It would be great to help m find something in order to use both pcs in the ritual. Thank you! |

Were they divinely chosen for the job? Here a some things you can include in the ritual: -Burning of Incense. -Outline of a serpent “drawn” on the ground. Can be carved into ground or made up of any substance or laid into the proper pattern, sand or even serpent scales could work. -Encounter (either a combat or skills challenge) with a spiritual serpent. -Serpent venom as a means to enter a mystical semi-trance. -Sacrifice of one's own essence (would use rules covering diseases) -Sacrifice of small animals that are often prey for serpents. -Rhythmic music and or dancing. |

I choosed the griffon of nemesis to be also the sacred beast of the Goddess of Beasts... something like herald. (quite irrelevant with serpent ritual) the human cleric (npc) is the devoter of the Goddess of the Beasts. Also since all the druidic staff has not any relationship with divine powers... she is borrowing the clerical magic from sehanine. the wife of the elf ranger came to teach her. which btw she (was)is actually dead, a benevolent, ghost sent by sehanine... when they ll finish the 3 part of the whole 3 part ritual the npc pristress will be the first druid i hope to not confused you ! anyway, thanks again!! :D |
