| #1xantoeDec 19, 2008 15:55:57 | before i start talking about this character idea i would like to ask if someone would mind showing me how to make those tables that are nicely organized by level and such. it's not the doomlord from 3.5; i just use the flavor of it for my character a not necessarily bad guy but works towards ending this world, or a simple pruner of the world; he's a being that the song of dissolution pulses through his veins! what it is going to try and be like is my epic character that was an entropomancer/fiend of possession the idea is in the end the character turns into an umbral blot(living sphere of annihilation) the idea is as an entopomancer he would create shards of the sphere and attack with them and create fields around him that would debuff, and the final level made him immune to the sphere. the fiendish aspect let him basically posses objects and creatures and so when he was powerful enough he could possess the sphere and kick some ass. my thoughts so far. this will be a defender. he would use a weapon for his attacks he uses entropic damage(not alot),which can't be resisted, attacking reflex(the idea is he doesn't do alot of damage but it's almost unavoidable). he pulls enemies to him with a vacuum style effect(like the umbral blot). and can gain phasing to move around the battle field. he doesn't have much hp but relies on being insubstantial(half damage reduction). he charms enemies, and will eventually get an ability like a tormenting ghost where while insubstantial and adjacent to the target he possesses them and completely controls them. and he can animate objects.(and i was toying with the idea of having an animated object like the rangers pet) he would start with an entropic field that is suppressible. it is a close burst1; any enemy with in the field that makes an attack that does not include him take damage (it increases with each tier). he can use his utility spells to increase it's area and have other effects; like making the area have a pull effect, and make it difficult terrain and what not. i know there are a few issues like having a guy that uses a weapon that attacks will and reflex, but i don't mind having drawbacks to get this concept -- like spending healing surges to use nice abilities and reduced damage output compared to other classes. it was a very fun character and i would like to play him in 4th. oh and what sparked my interest with making this character in 4th was the star flesh ability in dragon 366. that was how i envisioned his final stage where only the most resilient weapons and wills could hurt him in umbral form! thank you in advance for your feedback |
